Brad Bailey |Tue, Sep 23, 8:15 AM (1 day ago)|to info||I write this complaint as it has been many years since I have had such a bad experience and certainly has been a blight on my Impression of New Zealand. ||Firstly on arrival I was greeted to an empty reception, I rang the Camera Bell, a Chinese chap who had a very poor command of English, he did not greet me in any professional manner, instead skirted any eye contact and with his left hand slid an electronic Fob onto the reception Desk and mumbled room number Eleven. ||Secondly after entering my room it became apparent the Room Door would not lock, perhaps by design I realised after leaving the Hotel after a dreadful night of no peace and certainly no peace. All night there were disturbances from people either intoxicated by Drugs and or Alcohol...one Woman speaking in a foreign language I am sure woke the entire block with her ignorant carry-on at 01.30 hours...This kind of primitive behaviour went on most of the night from other people within the Hotel block.||Thirdly clearly there is an issue with the plumbing as ALL night there were noises from the Plumbing directly above the bed....||Whilst I will say the room for a Budget room was well set up and clean...water pressure was good and bed linen clean. ||However I have to say you Hotel if one can call it that was a dreadful experience for me, I have stayed in many Hotels around the world and I have never had a worse experience. Finally I also noted Mandarin lettering on the room doors and other areas?? I am to understand your guests are Non English speaking ?? if so why are they in NZ? The official language of NZ is English, not mandarin. I have forwarded this Message to the NZ Board of Tourism as I feel this facility is not what NZ should...
Read morePossibly our worst accommodation experience ever. Started at check-in when the elderly gentleman on reception was having a conversation on the phone the entire time I was trying to get checked in, he never once even looked at me. The property was really outdated and looked/felt like it hadn’t been maintained properly in a long time. Our room was tiny with a double bed (not stated on their website when we booked). Neither the balcony door nor the windows were fitted into their frames properly and as a result there was a constant high-pitched whistling noise most of the time due to the prevailing breeze. The balcony door had a clear glass section with no blind or curtain so we had to improvise at night using a towel. It appears that the main plumbing runs through the ceiling of the room we had as you could hear (quite loudly) water/effluent running through pipes every time toilets were flushed or when people were having showers. There is no ironing board or iron available for guest use on the property, frustrating as we were in Auckland for a wedding. We abandoned the room early without refund as, after three nights we were happy to forgo this and stay elsewhere in order to get some sleep. Will never stay at the Conway again and would not recommend to...
Read moreLocation was excellent for what we needed. We came up for a funeral and most of my family were there so it made it convenient for travel. But we had a horrible sleep due to the fact that we only had a double bed and had to share with a toddler. We ended up buying an air bed for her dispite asking for a double bed and single. The first night we didn't get much sleep at all due to everyone being loud. We had someone try break into our room twice. The people next door were loud and it sounded like the girl was being bashed. Could hear people walking and running down the hall, the shower was absolute rubbish. Hardly any pressure and it wasn't hot. And the shower just stopped sometimes. The TV in our room was half working. The air-conditioning was broken and only giving out hot air. The rail in the bathroom half hanging off.. apart from that and the time we were there it was alright for the price. But I wouldn't stay...
