Im a foodie and review everything i eat and this was the First time trying these cookies. My partner and i bought 5 cookies and 2 thick shakes and it cost over $50 bucks, which i thought it was over priced.
And Honestly I was looking foward to trying the creme brulee cookie pie, as I had heard good things about it. It looked yummy and i was impressed with the appearance of the cookie, but when i tasted it, the dough was not nice. i dont know what was in it but it tasted strongly of "baking soda" or something) and that spoilt it. The creme in it was delicious though, pity about the rest of it. Oh well...
I liked the chocolate fudge cookie and the other chocolate one(can't remember what it was called now, have to google it up later). i also did not like the marshmallow one ( I barely took a bite before I was horrified by how the marshmallow was so tough and stretchy). i literally had to pull it off like a rubber band oh my gosh.
The Whittaker's chocolate thick shake was good, I would probably only ever come back for that.
I feel that the atmosphere was dull and it was empty when we came in. A few other customers came in after us, and there was a man who walked in asking the ladies at the counter questions, and when he left, they were talking quite loudly about him and laughing (how unprofessional).
I rate this place 2 stars but really feel it...
Read moreMy daughter and I were first-time customers at the Manukau dessert bar just before lunch today. We were so excited to finally try the infamous moustache treats so we bought a combination of their cookies and cookie pies. The cookies were delicious, the pies were ok, but this review is inclusive of customer service which is what brought the rating down to 2 stars. The lady who served us was not necessarily rude...at least not directly...but she definitely was not friendly. In fact, some may consider her to have been unfriendly. I understand no one can be expected to be courteous all the time, but it was our first visit and we did observe the same reception was given the lady who was served before us. Perhaps it was an off day for her. In summation, the cookies are delicious, the pies are ok but the customer service could be much better! We deserve service with a smile and welcoming attitude...even in our predominantly brown-faced neck of the woods ;-)
*Edit: On my second visit the customer service had picked up to the friendliest possible which was lovely! I've changed my review from 2 to 5 stars accordingly :-) Thank you for this...
Read moreEdit: During Easter, I was gifted a box of hot cross bun, crème egg and Dubai cookie pies. The Easter themed ones were the worst they’ve ever made and the Dubai pies were seriously the BEST pies they’ve ever made. Soooo I’m back at moustache just getting Dubai cookie pies because they seriously locked in with this one. Also, for the people complaining about the price - live within your means!
I have been a long time fan of Moustache since its store in CBD. Sadly, I don’t see myself ever coming back unless you bring back the dearly beloved peanut butter choc (RIP).
The cookie ratios have changed (for the worst). Among purchasing 3x choc chunk cookies I also got the 9 cookie pie box 3x caramilk, 3x biscoff, 3x Nutella. Not nearly enough filling for the cookie ratio; because of this, all 3 flavours tasted like a plain biscuit.
I get how most people would rave on about the cookie pies but if they had a single bite of what moustache use to produce 10 years ago, they would be shocked that this is what it has come to.
Regardless, all the best moustache and would love to see peanut butter choc back up in the...
