Worst worst worst ever! I got so excited when I saw there was a daily bread in pt chev, I usually go to the city one so I thought I’ll be getting the same amazing service and wasn’t I wrong! I don’t even where to start! The server gave us a croissant on a wet plate. Worst part she saw it was wet and she “shook it” out then placed a croissant directly on a wet plate! The water bottles were dirty on the outside and had food particles on the inside! When asked for another they brought another dirty bottle - clearly didn’t care! The glasses had big piece of food stuck in them. Clearly went through the wash cycle that way! No eye for details or customer service. I was served a coffee in a dirty cup, I asked for another one to be made in a takeaway cup the waiter was annoyed at me. Kept saying it’s dirty because it has coffee in it which wasn’t the case They moved a very very loud trolley the entire store, Interrupted everyone even though they have a backdoor but was so full of stuff they couldn’t use it. We sat n their deck and there was a poo smell, we couldn’t stay any longer we left.
Honestly the service was so bad, the atmosphere even worse. I feel bad leaving this review because as I said before Im normally used to much better everything from the cbd store but it was clear the point chev branch was under a different management. I recommend...
Read moreDaily Bread was rather disappointing for me. I went on Friday, opening day, then again popped in in Sunday but it was jam packed. Today, Monday, was a little quieter, but the badly planned "traffic flow" makes for toral chaos. Lack of large visible signage didn't help as you had to get really close to see the small labels; or ask what things were. There didn't appear to be a menu. The baquette we tried was overcooked & teeth breakingly tough. The cardomon bun on the other hand was doughy & under cooked. We also tried a delicious looking cheesy roll, but it turned out to be very buttery pastry (more like a croissant) which is too rich for my constitution. I am told the croissants are perfection. The made-to-order sandwiches were huge, even when shared. Coffee was very strong & robust but not very hot & our flat whites were, most unusually, a bit short on milk. The building is beautifully kept & I was delighted to see that the lovely windows & wood panelling are preserved. I live around the corner, so I hope things will improve as they settle in, but at the prices they are charging I shall still be giving Diehls, Shaky Isles, Pandoro & Wild Wheat my custom for bread & Spilt Milk or Florettes, my...
Read moreLove Daily Bread, however the service has been consistently going downhill. We stop by twice a week at least for fresh bread and goodies. Last visit I bought home a Kumara bread that was overcooked and black. The sandwich had such little filling, I was so disappointed. The food cabinet is decorated with beautiful food with flies as toppers. The staff!! I don’t know where to start. Even if they are doing absolutely nothing and you are standing in front of them, they don’t even acknowledge with a nod let alone a hi of good morning. They just put your items in a bag and point at the eftpos machine. Literally don’t talk or smile. Unfortunately it is not just one person, it’s consistent every single time lately no matter who serves you.
It’s such a shame as when they opened they were awesome and they gradually have been going for full. Over the last few weeks I drive all the way around to Farro than stop at the beginning of the suburb for my fresh bread. Wish they went back to...
