KFC Point Chevalier — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

This place doesn't even deserve my one star, that's how bad it was. We've never experienced such a horrible place before, it takes the cup! Me and my family just wanted a feed after a very long day. The only reason we ended up at Pt Chev KFC, is cause my daughter lives around the corner. Arrived 8.45pm and first employee packed our order for takeaway altho I clearly stated eat in, maybe cause I was wanting to order 2 big fam meals grateful only got one. I asked for burger meals which they said didn't have, or didn't want to make. Waited a good fifteen minutes for food, I went to ask at counter and they said it's been ready waitin on counter but my son was there wth. The second employee which is diff to first one,serves my son that went to get a coleslaw we forgot to order and took back cause we wanted a large not small. My son tells me second employee was annoyed that he wanted to change and hesitated to but did and when my son put hand out to receive change threw coins on counter! Now I'm pissed and tell my son it's ok I'll go speak to manager after I eat. That second employee comes up to us at 9.14pm and says they're closing restaurant at 9.30 due to short staff, I reply but you close at 10. I can't continue to finish food now. I go and speak to incompetent manager on duty and explain the many issues in short time of visit. She said staff are new, wow no excuse for such behaviour! It wasn't until I named one after another problem that she started apologising and saying sorry, but you kno when it's not genuine, jus a sorry to get rid of us as a few customers are watching. I pointed out that as we arrived I had to move my mums belongings from one table to another because the floor mat was on bin that hung over chair, gross where people eat. Then the toilets, I couldn't use as it reeked of piss that was obviously all over floor and filthy spew material, as if hadn't been cleaned in a month! My 4 yr old daughter had no choice as she was busting. My mum almost used but I said no and wait till we got back to my older girls fale. I only read reviews after coming to right mine, and inform others. Regardless of short staff, under pressure, closing soon or just things out of our control, do to others as you want done to you. We visited from out south and I guess the empty store should have been a hint of what was to come. The guy behind the counter who took my order was nice enough, but seemed shocked we wanted the free hat that came with our order. Then also seemed suprised I asked for cups and plates to eat the food in the store we ordered. The food itself was oily and tasteless, the fries hadn’t seen a drop of salt in their life and weirdly they gave us warm soft drink but they did exchange it for cold after I asked. But the real issue was the lady they had on the floor doing the cleanup, first of all she touched my hair which was weird in itself, but then my two young children both asked to use the bathroom before they finished eating, so I took them to the toilet while my husband waited with their uneaten food. To save time I asked the lady to unlock two bathrooms for me, but she said no I was only allowed one despite three people needing the toilet. It’s laughable. Then while I was herding the children through the toilet, she went and took all their uneaten food and drink away. My husband told her to stop and she completely ignored him. He wanted to physically stop her but he’s not that type so he repeatedly told her the children are still eating and drinking and asked her to leave the food behind but she continued to throw it away. Service here was absolutely egregious. The girl on the counter (I think her name was Fatima) was a horrible employee.

Last night, I mentioned the "6 and shout" promotion to her and showed her the details on KFC's website (and the T's & C's) as I was keen to get some free wicked wings or even see if there was stock after the NZ v AUS first T20i. She smugly said "I have never heard of that before, sir." I accepted this excuse since I was starving, and I couldn't be bothered calling her manager, creating a fuss.

After treating that ordeal as an attack on her person, she was nonchalant in her approach towards packaging my food - filling up my regular drink halfway and dumping my order on the counter without any acknowledgement. She slid over and rudely started taking my girlfriend's order, who didn't bother asking about "6 and shout" knowing the employee was incompetent.

Popcorn chicken tasted as if someone had left it in the sun for 8 hours but Fatima's amazing 'service with a smile' attitude really put a foul taste in my mouth.
