A really great place to grab a very nice and casual meal or just a few drinks, just the kind of spot Kingsland needs, really hope the precedent set here is followed in the area - they’re on to a great thing.
Ate here tonight (Sunday evening), party of 5. We booked in advance and thinking back I’m glad we did as by the time we had sent away for our food the venue had filled nearly completely.
I would say that they seemed understaffed, (hard to name a place that isn’t afflicted by this to some degree at the moment) but despite this our food arrived in decent time proportionate to the quantity of food we ordered, and the level of service was sufficiently attentive despite there being only one staff member on the floor. Massive props to the staff for putting in so much effort to execute a busy service to a really impressive standard.
We delivered an assortment of large plates (2) small plates (4) and sides (3), this was a great amount for the five of us (we were all very hungry, those of less rapacious appetite could likely get away with ordering on less small plate or side) each plate was left empty and each diner highly satisfied.
The smokey flavour of the pork belly is sensational and it was cooked to perfection.
The jerk chicken had a beautiful charcoal flavour and went very well with the house rum bbq sauce.
The jalapeño poppers were a tasteful addition, less spicy than some others - the cheese used provided the perfect flavour and a really pleasant creaminess that complemented it‘s crispy exterior.
The popcorn chicken was a hit, the table provides hot sauce options that matched really nicely with this dish.
The rice and beans were a nice touch with a deep savoury flavour and a balanced and satisfying level of seasoning.
The Mac and cheese was another hit with the table, we were very very close to asking for another portion but ran out of room.
There is an art to making empanadas and this art is truly not lost on the chefs at nanny’s, the fresh salsa garnish matched wonderfully.
I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed this place can genuinely not think of a single negative or even mediocre aspect of my experience - very eager to return.
Thanks very much! Please try this place 👍 five stars...

I thought i'd leave an honest feedback, as I was really looking forward to NE and really tried to enjoy the dinner. I am normally okay with any level of service provided the food is good, but unfortunately it was not the case. My guess is team at NE might be a bit short staffed (like may other businesses rn) thus both food and service was a bit underwhelming.
Would like to try and give your joint another go during a less busy...
Read moreOur first time here and we were blown away by the exceptional food. We weren’t sure how many dishes or what dishes to order because everything looked good. So do starters we ordered the jalapeño poppers - the jalapeños do have a kick to them. Next time we’ll try them with the mango sauce that is one of the bottled condiments on the table. We couldn’t decide between trying the jerk pork belly, the jerk chicken or the oxtail so we ordered all three. We coupled the pork with Mac n cheese and chips. The oxtail we paired with the rice dish and the coleslaw. And the chicken we just ordered a 1/4 since we were told we might have to take some of it home. The portion size was generous but because my partner and I love to eat we could finish it. We left the dishes in the middle and just shared it between us. The stars of the meal: The oxtail dish with rice and the coleslaw (coleslaw helped cut through the richness of the oxtail) The jerk pork belly with the Mac n cheese (would change to have fries to coleslaw to help cut through the pork belly) The jerk chicken was also delish if you don’t like pork (my partner doesn’t like pork but LOVES the jerk pork).
To end our meal, we ordered banana chimichangas. They were massive and packed with melted chocolate and banana drizzled with lemon curd. Delish from start to end.
I’ve read previous reviews talk about long wait times, but my partner and I found the time between dishes (appetiser/main/dessert) was perfect. It gave us enough time to digest between courses and make room for the next dish.
I’ve already spoken to family and will be taking them here...
