After 2 attempts to book a table via the website and no confirmation I called to book, to view UFC 297. The staff member on the other end replied that the booking wasnât even placed?..
Poor coms.
On this particular day, auckland had a record of 29 degrees. The establishment was wide open and extremely sticky, Instead of management closing it up and letting the aircon make the environment more comfortable, the facility was horrid. With a bar load of men watching UFC, it was poor form.
After researching the website menu I ordered a seafood platter @$31 but charged $40 and when I challenged the manager about the advertised price, told â inflation and thatâs what everybody is doingâ? Iâm sure this is illegal and you must be charged what is advertised. The dish was ordinary and small given the cost.
The manager was clearing some tables and walked right passed us and left our dishes, on purpose Iâm sure after challenging him on the price of my meal.
When the main fight started the volume was too low and the bar filling and hard to hear. I asked the barmen if it was ok to have a bit more volume, to which there wouldnât be an issue but there was no increase in the volume.
I asked the manager and he flat out refused. TWICE .
We spent upward of $300 between myself and two of my friends and didnât think this was too much to ask.
Disappointed at the staff and their attitude and service, their reluctance to utilise the equipment of a live PPV event and will not frequent the Kingslander...
Read moreWent there for "eat all you can ribs". Entered the place and it was silent. no music. as if we entered the wrong place. We sat on our table and was offered some chips and bread. Across our table a customer was asking why the food was taking so long, they replied " we only have 1 chef. Hmmm thought it would take like 15 mins became 30mins. And to make matters worse our Ribs was Half cooked, " pork ribs should be tender, like falling off the bone BUT it was raw in the middle, It was PORK!!!! who would serve raw pork ribs. Note..... FOod SAfety... Pork should be cooked properly...can cause Trichinosis bacteria poisoning. it should be cooked above 71 celsius. More over, our friend was pregnant. We asked for a replacement and we got a " cold" reaction. Making me feel bad, guilty, for returning the food. DIn't they even realize what could've happened if we got food poisoning. They'll get fined or worse...shut down. I was utterly disappointed knowing that it was a local icon. Hope they work out their system as it was not Fun, funny at all. Hoping for a better experience for others.....not going back :(
"!!!!!!! beside our table the guy was forcefully trying to pull apart the ribs just to eat it, which means it was not cooked properly.hope he doesn't...
Read moreThe Kingslander is a classic local spot, and we dropped in on a Thursday night to check out their all-you-can-eat ribs deal for $30 per person. I came with three mates, and itâs safe to say this place knows how to set the right vibe.
The first round came with fries and garlic breadâtasty, but pretty filling upfront! Thankfully, the rounds after that were just ribs, which helped us pace ourselves a bit better (though we still got full pretty fast). The ribs themselves were tender, well-seasoned, and falling clean off the bone. They paired perfectly with a few drinks.
The venue is spacious and has a rustic, timeless charm. There was an open mic night happening while we were there, which added to the atmosphere, and they had old Super Rugby classics playing on the screensâa nice nostalgic touch.
The staff were chill and came around regularly to offer more ribs, which we appreciated. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely come back to try some of their other weekly specialsâseems like thereâs always...
