First 5-star in a while - THANK YOU LITTLE Q!!
Service - 5* Menu Food - 5* Cabinet (on looks) - 4* Drinks - 5* Space/ambience - 4* Value - 5*
From entry this lovely little place makes you feel looked after. Staff are warm and attentive and, as a coffee-lover, when I get asked what I would like then whether I would like the Medium-roast or the Dark-roast beans; that's exciting.
The cabinet is smallish (as is the whole space) but tasty looking. Didn't try anything this time but if we were passing through and grabbing a takeaway coffee would definitely go for something.
I'm unfortunately one of those people who have to pick a dish that is something I want but has the least amount of dietary changes required to avert being locked in a bathroom for an hour. Seems that it annoys me much more than the staff here though - waitress didn't flinch and the chef nailed it - 10/10 for helping me enjoy the experience without guilt. 31-week preggo wifey able to easily choose something she was happy about ordering, choosing being the hard part!
Both of our plates were DELICIOUS and, as you can see from the photo, not stingy at all. The patrons on either side of us also had fantastic looking plates as well as some impressive smoothies and iced coffee.
A beautiful white Alsatian came with it's owners and sat outside while they waited for their coffees, no objection from staff and space + tables to do it. Another bonus.
All in all - a great visit, have already recommended it to others, and will certainly be back again if we're in the area. Thanks team!
Best wishes for Level 3, I hope the community...
Read moreThis morning, I had the pleasure of treating my parents to breakfast at Little Q, a gem of a cafe nestled on the corner of the Pages building. We decided to indulge in their signature dishes: the Mega Q and two servings of Eggs Benedict.
Let's start with the Eggs Benedict. The homemade hollandaise sauce was nothing short of exquisite - creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, it elevated the dish to new heights. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, with the yolks providing that ideal runny texture that melded beautifully with the sauce. Accompanying this was a homemade hash cake which was, quite frankly, to die for. Crisp on the outside, yet tender and flavorful inside, it added a delightful contrast to the dish.
Moving on to the Mega Q, this dish was a revelation. The chorizo sausages were the star of the show; they were juicy, packed with spices that lingered just right on the palate, leaving an amazing aftertaste that made you want more. The combination of ingredients in the Mega Q was harmonious, each component adding to the overall symphony of flavors.
The ambiance at Little Q complements the food perfectly. It's a cute, cozy space that feels both welcoming and upscale, making it an ideal spot for a special breakfast treat.
Overall, I highly recommend Little Q for anyone looking for a breakfast that combines quality, taste, and a touch of creativity. Whether you're after the decadence of their Eggs Benedict or the robust flavors of the Mega Q, you're in for a treat that's hard to forget. Five stars from me, and I'm already planning...
Read moreTravelling on the Western Line towards Britomart, I decided to get off at Kingsland Station and have a walk around the area. A few seconds walking up a path to the road, I found a lovely cafe on the left hand corner. The cafe is called Little Q and caters for eat-in and takeaways. The food cabinet displays were so enticing we decided to grab a coffee and something to eat there. There is an extensive, varied menu for a meal, or you can choose from the display cabinet. I chose Eggs Benedict with bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was of the highest quality and cooked perfectly also. I was impressed with the chefs layout also. Sorry, but I couldn't wait to taste it. Then after tasting it, I knew I had to take photos and let others know about this gem of a cafe. The staff were attentive, courteous and super friendly. My wife and I felt very relaxed there. I know we will take another train ride there again soon to taste some of their delightful cakes, muffins etc. I will omit the photos of our food as they don't do it justice. They arrived looking like a 3 star Michelin restaurant dish. But after tucking in, I didn't care about looks, I just savoured every mouthful. Needless to say, we left empty plates and cups behind. There's very few cafes I bother returning to these days. However, Little Q is one I will definitely return...
