Tried again today number 31 and their pizza bread. 9.5/10. So good, definitely best pizza in all of Auckland
Was recommended to try this pizza place. We ordered the number 4 and the number 4 & 7 (47). The woodfire dough was although on the thinner base side from the ones I've had in the past, it was excellent. The number 4 was like a fettucini carbonara kind of taste with a creamy base and was very good. the 47 was my preferred one and the one I would easily rate 9+/10, had a tomato base, jalapeno, cheese was perfect and the bits of salami was perfectly crisp. The dough was little bit chewy which was an enjoyable texture and the overall taste was just right and didn't felt lack of taste while not overpowering in flavour. I really like this place and after talking to the person at the front that we also enjoyed another pizza place called Elmo, we found out that they had a chef from Elmo that came over to Umu which to me was not surprise as the quality here reminds me of Elmo and both of these place are my...
Read moreThe food was indeed delightful—fresh and flavorful, no doubt about it. Just after opening, we requested a corner table for 12 people later that evening. Initially promised a spot, we were later told only outdoor seating was guaranteed. Come last night, we managed to secure an indoor high table just because one of the guys from the group went earlier, yet were denied a move to a more desirable corner location (lower tables, more space) despite being available (one was reserved, two were free). Their reasoning? Holding out for potential walk-ins. It's baffling—a group of 12 ready to buy drinks and pizzas, yet they prioritize hypothetical customers over us. And we were told that if we squeezed a bit more that we could fit everyone around the high table... Staff serving us were nice, and people preparing pizzas are doing a great job. But managing was not on the level. We ended up being frustrated, we had one round of drinks and 4 pizzas, and we decided to leave for another place. And we spent considerably more...
Read moreThe charming pizza shop with a pink theme in Kingsland was simply splendid. My partner and I decided to drop by after a day at work. As I love pizzas so much, I’m always on the hunt for delectable pizzas, and this place did not disappoint.
What caught our attention was the unique naming convention of the pizzas - they were all numbered! We ordered number 3, a spicy variant, and number 4, a mushroom one. The taste was nothing short of extraordinary. The pizzas were not crispy, but rather had a delightful chewy texture that we thoroughly enjoyed. They sell a list of dip sauces for crusts, we ordered roasted capsicum and sweet pepper, it added special joys so well. The sight of pizzas being expertly cooked in the indoor brazier was a spectacle in itself. The staff were kind and welcoming, contributing to our fantastic experience.
If you haven’t been here before, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s a wonderful place that’s...
