The Barn Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

Had a really unpleasant experience, waited 10-15 minutes in line to order and it took another 10 talking to the server at the counter to actually put in the order. I’m sure this isn’t specifically the woman’s fault but their computer system seems extremely inefficient as everyone placing their order also took an extremely long time. Explicitly told her I can’t have dairy so swapped out the croissant for bread (meal included eggs bacon and avocado, no other mention of dairy) waited around 40 minutes for the food to come out and the eggs looked like they had milk in them. I went to the counter, waited in line another ten minutes to ask if it had dairy in it. Confirmed to be yes after more waiting. Waited another 10 minutes to get a refund. Left hungry...

09/03/23 OMG. What a lovely lovely little place to get a great meal. My daughter and I went and both had meals we are still talking about today. My daughter loved her burger and chips. I had eye fillet steak with salad and fries. The steak was perfect. The chips were lovely and crunchy and the salad was beautiful. I was able to use my Entertainment voucher You have to give Barn Burger and Grill a try. You will love it. We will be back 😊

Ordered Fish n Chips. The fish was covered in a dark-coloured puffed-out batter covering over 60% of the fish which had to be negotiated before I got to the small pieces of fish. The chips were pretty dry too. The salad was ok though.. but nothing special. Suggestion: don't batter your fish so much and cook less time in the oil (?). Unsure why fish batter was so dark.. should of been golden coloured?? To be honest my local fish n chip shops do better. Ended up not completing the meal.
