Armadillo's Timaru — Restaurant in Canterbury

Well if you want to seat your self, wait 40 minutes then have to ask to be served in a near empty resturant then wait a further 40 plus minutes with no sign of your meals being 2x snitzel and a pasta this is the place for you. So after asking if it will be much longer. Get an apology and offer of a free desert. The meals arrive and the snitzels there signature dish are pitiful not even half a chicken filled went into each snitzel (approx palm sizeed dumped dry on the the plate. After waiting over an hr and a half the meal was poor at best. After waiting longer the deserts never were provided and we ended up leaving. The staff were less than capable and the chef should be ashamed of what he though was OK to serve. Very sad to see this establishment has declined in to such a poor state of affairs in the last year. But if your a family friend you can be served on entering and the food will be free flowing. We were not the only table that had issues getting any service and waited rediculas time...

Booked in for my sons 18th Birthday dinner, dropped his birthday cake off the morning of. Organised to use the curtesy van. Was told to ring when ready. I rang when ready no van arrived rang 20 minutes later the van drove past all 4 of us waiting on the street turned round and drove away. Rang again waited another 20 minutes gave up waiting and drove down. Which then meant one of us had to drive home. Then after the meal waited for cake to be brought out. Had to ask a staff member to bring it out which was a surprise for my son. She had no idea that there was a cake waiting out the back and went to double check. Finally cake came out. Disappointed in the communication amounst staff as young lady behind bar had not been told about the birthday cake and very Disappointed in the curtsey...

Was very disappointed. We went last night for a family dinner. There was 8 adults and 2children.first the server brought wrong meal out adult pasta instead of 3 kids pasta. The brought it back as kids dishes Which had mushrooms. So they had to redo there meals. Which they had to wait while everyone was eating. Then we had to ask for dessert order to be taken. They came out with the apple crumble. Which waited for for half an hour. Which we gave up on. Only 2 young girls doing the sewing. Was not happy we have been there quite a few times with good service. But was very...
