I don't really like Indian food. I'm expect some is OK but in 70 years all I've found is meat so overcooked it's utterly characterless. Sauces so laden with things like yogurt and ghee that after a meal I just feel like a blob. Prices that just don't make any sense. I've eaten so many cuisines I've lost count but the only one I've not ever really liked are Indian. I'd probably fare better if an Indian person could guide me but on every such occasion I've come away dissatisfied. Paid a large price for a tiny dish I'd not ever think of eating if it was not for me being social. Add to that this restaurant is in an earthquake prone building and I'm wondering if I'd ever go back. I'll look towards being convinced otherwise. Perhaps to do so won't cost me a fortune for what is basically mass preproduced...
Read moreBEST INDIAN EVER! Nz has great Indian restaurants but Little India is the best. Very authentic and flavoursome not like some places where all the curries taste the same. Little India is truly exceptional a real depth of different flavours lots of garlic. The food is fresh and perfectly cooked. Tandoori prawns were outstanding, as were onion bahji as entrees. I had my favorite curry, Saagwala and it did not disappoint. Beautiful blended spinach and the most tender chicken throughout. The sides are awesome too, excellent fresh cucumber salad and amazing mango chutney and mint yoghurt. Coriander and other garnishes really top off the dishes. Another sign of quality is no added sugar in any of the meals and almost everything is gluten free apart from the naan and samosas.
What are you...

What made the experience worse is that they don’t allow kids to have their own food at the table. As a parent of young children (2 and 4 years old), this policy is unreasonable, especially since their menu does not cater to young kids. My children couldn’t eat anything from their options, leaving us in an uncomfortable situation.
This level of disregard for customers, especially families, is unacceptable. It’s truly disappointing to see such poor service in what should be a welcoming...
