Terrible experience. I ordered a margherita and they didn't put any basil on it. What is the point of a MARGHERITA pizza without basil? And how does the chef not know basil goes on margherita pizza. It just looked like cheese pizza. Had to ask to check if this was margherita. Didn't get a sorry.

They also make you pay extra for aioli but don't give it to you. I had to go ask for the aioli myself.

I also had to double check that the pizza was gluten free because they made so many mistakes.

There is no way the chef/server could have gotten confused with our order as we were the only customers dining here at the moment. I am beginning to think that maybe they look down on Asian customers. If you are going to dine here, you really have to be vigilant and check your order.

Terrible...

The food was pretty standard; we had loaded fries and they were fine. The staff were fine, too; not rude or offensive but they didn't really go the extra mile (eg: a power outage meant they were unable to operate, we waited outside for the generator to kick in, no one thought to pop out and inform us when they were good to go...sonething and nothing, but this stuff makes a difference). What we really didnt like was the multitude of birds inside. They perched on the back of chairs, up in the rafters, hopped across the vacant tables, and flew around the inside and enclosed veranda cafe where your orders await your collection under heatlamps. I know this sort of thing is difficult to control but having to wipe my chair down before sitting down kind...

Really enjoyed the pizzas - we had a meat lovers and a pepperoni. The meat lovers seemed to only have pepperoni and ham as we didn't see any bacon. The base was exceptional - fluffy with a light crispiness and chewiness in the crust. Could've done with less polenta on the underside though.

Tasty sauce, and plenty of cheese too. Took about 25 mins for our order, but overall impressed by the food.

Check the family pass specials on the Hanmer Springs pools website before you go, as we got one that included two pizzas for an extra $10...
