This was our first and, unfortunately, our last visit to this establishment. I urge potential customers to be vigilant and careful for their safety. The owner also owns the Irish Bar and Fire & Ice Cafe Restaurant/Bar which is located right next door to Monteiths Brewery Bar. For your safety, we do not recommend visiting these establishments. DO NOT GO THERE.
We experienced an unsettling incident where one of the staff members assaulted us at the Monteiths Brewery Bar. When we reported this to the owner, we were met with indifference and hostility rather than support. His arrogance, rudeness, and aggressiveness were shocking, leaving us in disbelief. Consequently, we decided to leave after just one drink.
It’s essential for business owners to understand that customers are their bread and butter, they are crucial to the survival and prosperity of their operations. Nowadays, where competition is fierce, patrons have countless options when deciding where to spend their money. Customers who encounter disrespect or mistreatment will quickly seek alternatives by moving on to the next business/company. The customers dont care about your business. You, the business owner, should be very cautious about how you treat customers.
Ultimately, the financial thrive, success and prosperity of any business depend on customer satisfaction. The concept is quite simple, its not rocket science, without customers, a company cannot generate revenue. This lack of income makes it difficult to cover expenses such as staff salaries and bills, which can ultimately lead to bankruptcy. Understanding this relationship is crucial for maintaining a sustainable business.
We wish you all the best. Furthermore, we sincerely hope you reconsider your approach to customer service, as many other businesses are ready to take your place. We recommend that you seek customer service training. There are heaps available...
Read moreI feel like one star is still too many for the poor quality service and food experienced at this bar over the weekend. Here's a few reasons why:
the pork dish was not only flavourless but the pork was undercooked. Once the manager arrived (10 minutes after being asked out by the staff) he proceeded to argue with us that the pork was cooked saying the pink colour was from the bacon. That was fine, however, the texture of the pork was that which is undercooked. Two of us ordered this dish and both were undercooked. the chicken dish, although the chicken was well and truly cooked indicated by the dryness of it, the potatoes were not as they were still hard and crunchy. it took an hour for our dinner plates to be cleared from the table while, at times, up to five staff were standing around the counter talking. once our dinner plates were cleared, the waitress rushed off so quickly we couldn't order dessert or another round of drinks. the manager also argued with the table behind us when it was pointed out that one of the ladies dishes was also undercooked. when we went to pay, another group in front were also complaining about the poor quality of food.
Overall, if I was to say this was a poor experience it would be an understatement. Quite a let down when you're trying to celebrate...
Read moreOn our honeymoon from Australia, my wife and I visited Hanmer Springs. It was a beautiful town and on our first evening we decided to go somewhere nice for dinner. After having a great time at Monteith's Brewery in Greymouth on a beer tasting tour, we decided to use the vouchers we received while we were there for dinner. Upon entry, the waitress at the door immediately asked for our ID which we handed over willingly. She then asked for our passports as she commented that we didnt look of age. We explained to her that we had left our passports at our lodge as we were unaware that we would need them for dinner. No explanation or positive alternative was given, and myself and my wife were left feeling like we had no choice but to leave and find another place for dinner. Overall, we felt that the customer service at this particular restaurant was both insincere and confronting, having both previously travelled to New Zealand on separate occasions a few years back for wine tastings and pub events with no issues. Although I am 30 years old and my wife is 28, we feel that it was the manner in which we were treated that was disappointing, as we understand that the staff are entitled to ask us for ID if they think we look under age. We would not recommend visiting Monteith's Hanmer...
