Absolutely unacceptable experience. We used to visit this café regularly — not because the coffee or food was anything special (they’re honestly mediocre at best), but simply because the sofas were somewhat comfortable. Today, however, we had such a frustrating and insulting experience that we’ll never return.
My husband and I each ordered our own food and drinks. Because the tables are tiny and we both had laptops, we naturally used two adjacent tables — there was no way everything could fit on just one.
After finishing our meal and trying to relax for a moment, one of their Indian staff members came over and rudely told us we had to give up one of the tables. His excuse? Not because they were closing, but because they were “too busy.” That was laughable — we looked around and over half the place was empty. Literally more than 60% of the tables were unoccupied.
This wasn’t about space. It was about arrogance and a total lack of basic customer service. Instead of asking politely or using common sense, he came with an attitude, ruined our mood, and acted like we were somehow a burden.
We confronted him about his behavior and guess what? No apology. No explanation. Just a cold, dismissive attitude like he couldn’t care less.
Frankly, with this kind of staff and this level of service, it’s no surprise your Google rating keeps dropping. You’re not just losing customers — you’re actively pushing them away.
Oh, and by the way — your portions and quality are noticeably worse than your Upper Riccarton branch. Feels like you’re cutting corners and hoping no one notices.
Well, we noticed. We’re done here. Good luck staying open — with this attitude, you’ll need...
Read moreWasn't good experience to spent Saturday night with my family. The service was very bad. There is 1 barista and 1 waitress I knew they seems tired. Not even smile when we walked in to order.
The thing that wasn't pleasant is we order some food and unfortunately we didnt see there bacon in it and the waitress offer us to refund and she taken away the meal with her.
When I'm back and ask for refund the cassier/barista lady rejected with the 'attitude' which is not very pleasant and the other lady was give a rolling eyer towards me but I'm still smilling to them at that time.
I went out as she said she couldnt refund the money. My husband wasnt happy and asked again to the same lady. Same answer. Not even offer replace with coffee or something else, but they taken away my food! I'm about to take away and give it to someone elses but they throw away my food already.
What a shame because of you two guys, we definately will not gonna come back there anymore. Was my son favourite place to go, but now these 2 girls...
Read morePossibly one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever had. I ordered a gluten free bagel on my lunch break and when I got back to work (10 minutes drive) I discovered it was not in fact gluten free, so I called the café, I was met with no apology but just come back we will swap it. okay I thought, annoying but surely when I get there I will be met with a gluten free bagel and apology. I drove back to the café to get bagel, however was met with same sullen counter person who simply said you need to pay extra for gluten free. I said no you need to apologize for getting it wrong and give me the bagel. They replied you never said gluten free and began arguing with me. The manager steps in at this point to tell me not to speak to her staff that way, no where was an apology for wasting 20 minutes of my lunch break or for getting it wrong. Zero customer service skills from staff which I'm not surprised by given the manager is clearly lacking them as well. Disappointing is an...
