Turns out this place is so much more. Great food created from a strong family with love fuelled by a rich backstory.

My first time in there I had the pleasure of talking with one of the owners and honouring their passed on loved one.

The response from the video I created about them was just full of love and respect for what they have done in the community ❤️

A few days ago I returned and hosted a live stream event it was a blast to be able to fill the restaurant with fans and share some good food.

Honey Chicken. $16.50. Felt like whoever is cooking this has lost their passion for delivering good quality food. This was precooked shredded chicken with a Gravy type sauce supposed to be honey. On fried rice with no taste either. I also ordered off the menu a piece of lemon chicken. It's not a piece of chicken, more like a piece of processed meat with a battery type coating..NO LEMON FLAVOURS. This was delivered via Door Dash. I WON'T RECOMMEND this place ever. An absolute waste of money. MY mind hasn't changed...

Recently returned from living overseas, thanks to a Stuff article I found that Dumplings in Riccarton is THE original Dumplings from Shades Arcade that at least half of us Telecom workers in Hereford St used to visit :D So delighted to recognise the same family running a Christchurch icon. The rice and gravy was just as tasty as I remembered, lemon chicken light and crispy with the BEST flavoured sauce, and BBQ pork delicious with no fatty bits.
