First of all the food here is deliciously cooked to absolute perfection from appetiser’s right through to deserts!! The only minor hiccup I experienced here was I ordered a mild but got served a medium, the staff were quick in action to rectify my order without any hesitation and i felt my order was prioritised over others due to due to which I felt my meal coming back to me within 5mins. Second of all, I really enjoyed my dinning experience here, this restaurant has a unique design detailing going on that I think targets a variety of cultural comforts from traditional Indian, to old English and even a military vibe, what a awesome vision from this team! I felt the window seats provide a sense of privacy which is great given this venue is in the heart of the city and there is plenty of foot traffic, but also who doesn’t like to people watch lol! Last but not least I have to commend the staff for there polite manners throughout, and also the entertaining character serving food, who I sense really enjoys making people feel comfortable through the laughter I noticed coming from many of other customers he was serving. Read moreA Bold & Beautiful Indian Culinary Experience – Gunpowder Restaurant Review
Gunpowder is not your average Indian restaurant—it’s a fiery, bold take on regional Indian cuisine served with creativity and flair. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern industrial chic and cozy intimacy. The staff are attentive, warm, and knowledgeable about the menu.
What truly sets Gunpowder apart is its unapologetically flavorful dishes. Every item feels like it has a story Portion sizes are perfect for sharing, making it a great spot for a casual night out or a special occasion. Drinks are equally impressive, with a curated selection of cocktails that complement the food without overpowering it.
Prices are reasonable considering the quality and originality of the dishes. It’s clear Gunpowder isn’t trying to replicate the typical “curry house” experience—it’s here to redefine what Indian dining in the UK can be.
Highly recommended for food lovers seeking something different, exciting, and deeply rooted in authentic...

So having been at the what adverstises itself as a bar and restaurant with both tap beers 'off', only two wines to choose from and no sign of food for 25 minutes we decided to cut our losses and left.
The restaurant was not busy but was doing a steady home delivery trade. The waiter could not have been nicer but was clearly too busy to give...
