Laneway Espresso — Restaurant in Christchurch

Filled in your booking form on Saturday late morning for a table Sunday for 4 people. We were visiting Christchurch. Sunday morning i discovered you’re closed on Sunday. I’ve never had a reply to the booking form request, it’s now Wednesday. Fortunately our friends found a great place. It wasn’t easy as a stranger to find a suitable place/good parking etc. Why don’t you have an easier booking system rather than one where you have to reply? We came at the end of the day so the kitchen was closed and the cabinets were almost empty. Slightly disappointing- but in all honesty it's a good sign (shows that food is fresh and delicious). Coffee and sweet treats were perfect. My biggest bonus is that they were absolutely embracing of our toddlers, who had a blast running along the concrete floors. Thankfully all of the other customers had left, but the staff were so friendly and gave us space to have fun. Glad we found this little place and we'd love to return if you'll have us! Laneway Espresso is a real gem in the city. It is a large cafe close to the town hall and is full of sunlight. It dies not cut corners on service and it is not noisy or cramped. The staff are so polite. The food is devine... an awesome range of hot and cold food. I had a toasted sandwich of fine ingredients. My coffee was spot on. I enjoyed sitting with my work friends at a bar table in the sun. I will defintely return to try more of their menu. This is a great cafe for a work lunch or meeting... quiet, sophisticated...
