Jamaica Blue — Restaurant in Christchurch

My daughter and I visited Jamaica.Blue in Riccarton Mall about 1.15pm today. We have been there before and has been lovely. Due to not having big appetites we decided to buy a club sandwich to share. I got a citrus tart and a tea. My daughter got an Anzac biscuit and juice. When we received our order, I opened the sandwich and gave us one each. I thought it smelt odd but took a bite... tasted awful so I say there without swallowing it and without saying anything until my daughter took a bite unless it was just me. She stopped immediately and looked at me. I said...its bad ay? She nodded. I spat mine into my napkin....which shocked my adult daughter as she has never seen me do that! She followed suit.we opened the sandwich and the ham was a mixture of colours...white, pink,blue and green. I took them up to the counter and said they smelt and tasted terrible. The man behind the counter said it was fresh. I said it's bad. He offered to get us something else. My daughter was just saying maybe a toastie or wrap when the lady came up and sniffed the sandwiches and stated loudly.. they smell fine there is nothing wrong with them! So I declined anything else and was not offered a refund. We went back to our table and had our sweets and drinks feeling very awkward. We quickly left and fir the first time ever... I did not thank the staff. We did not even swallow one bite as we did not want food poisoning. We will not return to the Cafe again and I feel that sandwich was days old and the ham was off. I would be mortified if the sandwiches at my workplace were sold like this and the customers would definitely have been given a refund, an apology and most if all.... not made to feel like they were telling a lie. We ended up grabbing more food elsewhere. The male was at least kind. The female rude.
