MIYABI Sushi Sushi (CBD) — Restaurant in Christchurch

I just arrived in CHC today at the bus interchange and ordered a quick lunch at I Sushi. I ordered a Terayaki Salmon Don (grilled) and was served by lovely staff members. As I was having my first bite, I saw a moving bug on the bag of my spoon. It took me half a second to recognise it was a tiny worm. I obviously spited out the food I had in my mouth and gave my plate back to the staff member who apologised and appeared embarassed. She offered to recook it but who would want to eat again after that? I just requested a refund which I got and went somewhere else to eat.

I wanted to share my feedback to raise my concerns over this restaurant's hygiene. I am hoping this is a one-off bad experience and it will not be repeated with another customer

Ordered udon yesterday. Went 10 mins after the given time and it was still not cooked. The staff after taking there payment told me it's not cooked and need more time. Although they tried to rush after I told them I am getting late for work. Then the takeaway box they gave me was made of cardboard and it melted and the Uber eats bag teared apart on my way to work on the road. Very frustrating and had to clear the mess on the street with the napkins and hand. Very bad experience...

I had an outstanding experience at this sushi establishment located inside the bus exchange. The staff member who assisted me was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, offering me freshly made sushi with a warm smile. The presentation was impeccable, and the flavors were truly exceptional—some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.
