I'm editing my review to tell things how they actually are. I've put my rating from 4 stars to 3 for 2 reasons, which are listed below. Reason 1: Where did all the people go? Cathedral square was meant to be a central gathering place and tourist attraction that everybody would always come to. It's really sad now, all empty. Absolutely no reason to go to the square. Things may change when the refurbished cathedral opens, but it's truly nothing without all the businesses surrounding it, which goes into my second reason. Reason 2: Where did all the businesses go? There used to be so many reasons to come to the square, like cafes and arcades, and all the other businesses that were surrounding the square. There were so many reasons to go there, and now it's all gone. Sadly, same goes for the rest of the central city. More businesses are needed, otherwise there's not that massive variety of reasons to come anymore. You've may have all these new attractions opening there, for example the Convention center and the library, but it's truly nothing without the massive amount of businesses. I could go deeper, but I'll stop there. But despite all this, there's that 3 star upside to everything, and that's that it is in the process of making some sort of comeback. This is largely due to the restoration of the cathedral happening now, Not to mention a couple attractions have opened on the north side of the square. But as I said, it's nothing without the people and the businesses. I now rate Cathedral Square 3 stars. I'm only 15 years old, so it Really sucks to have not been able to grow up to see a fully functioning central city. It's quite sad...

Summary 3/5: Default tourist attraction to visit in Christchurch, unfortunately work still not completed after 10 years.

The attraction 3.5/5: The history of the square trace back to 1850, it's no surprise that the Square play a significant role in Christchurch history. Unfortunately, the square was badly damaged in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake. It is sad to see the rebuilding work still ongoing after more than 10 years. That said, there's a lot to see here, just to name a few, e.g. The Grand (Old Post Office building), Godley Statue, Citizens' War Memorial, Chalice The Sculpture and the murals around the square. There's a flea market during weekends too.

The location 5/5: Definitely central of the city, the Tram station is just by the...
