What an awful experience! When we arrived, no one greeted us. We had to find our own table, and clear it of all the dirty dishes from the previous customers. We waited 15 minutes, nobody came to greet or hand us a menu and take our order. I called a waiter who was clearing tables, he said he would be right with us. Well, he carried on clearing tables, and ignored us. Eventually i got up to find someone else to take our order. They eventually took our order. Brought our drinks. We waited another 30 minutes for the food. Nobody came to reassure us that the food was on its way or not. We were not sure if they had forgotten us. Second time I had to get up to find someone to ask if our food was still coming. It finally arrives! Yay! NOT. My food had creepy crawlies all over it. They clearly had not washed the parsley, so there were little mites/aphids crawling over my food. We decided to pay for our drinks and walk out. No apology or explanations give, not even waived the coffee and smoothie we had ordered. The worst restaurant service we have ever experienced, and we come from a 3rd world country!! They should be ashamed of themselves especially as Devonport is such a tourist attraction. Anyone reading this should rather try Dixie Brown further down the road. They were...
Read moreFantastic! Amazing! Spectacular! I had an awesome evening at Corelli's with my friends. I tried the croquets they were delicious, the hot honey was to die for. The halloumi fries in filo which was my biggest surprise, I love halloumi, never have I had such a moist halloumi and the contrast to the buttery crunch of the filo elevated the dish even further. The leftover hot honey from the croquets was also an amazing pairing.
My main was the steak and wow, not only did it look amazing it tasted even better. Perfectly cooked and tender and vegetables were fresh, delectable, rich in butteryness but not heavy at all.
To round the evening out I got the creme brulee, I love my creme brulee and this is the nicest one by far. So rich and creamy, yet somehow not heavy at all, I could've eaten more.
I also got to try the cheesecake and you can tell that is made on site, creamy with a slight tart that balances it so well, another great desert.
Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive, we were also lucky enough to meet the Chef and she was wonderful. You can tell their is love in that kitchen.
The atmosphere is lovely and friendly, get in now and try their dinner menu. It is not to miss.
P. S. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the food, it did not last...
Read moreI remember going to Corelli for years, it was a Devonport staple and my family have many memories here. We hadn’t gone in a while so decided to go for dinner, but we were shocked by how much it had changed. On a Saturday night, the first weekend of the holidays, it was completely empty except for the staff. The staff were lovely and quickly had us seated and served, but we were disappointed by the menu. Tiny compared to what it used to be, the only thing that seemed to be on offer was meat and vegetables, no specials, or pizzas, or any range.
When the food was served, it was very disappointing, the chicken had almost no flavouring and was very bland, and the roasted vegetables were colourless and flavourless, however the fries we ordered as a side were delicious. While we had dinner, only two other customers came to eat, the place was very quiet which gave an uncomfortable atmosphere to the meal. When it came time to pay the bill was over $120, which we felt was a steep price for what we were hoping would be a delicious filling meal, like the Corellis we remembered, but we left feeling not...
