unfortunately a bad experience..chose it because i wanted a mezze with taramasalata being my favourite. When it came there was no taramasalata - just hummus, sour cream type thing and a small bowl of sweet chili sauce- I asked about the lack of Taramasalata and was told they had run out - no apology - i told them i was disappointed as it was my favourite .I also ordered a small Greek salad - that was very disappointing too - stacked so high in a small bowl with mainly cucumber and tasteless old tomatoes that everytime i put my fork in- the contents jumped out onto the table - olives had stones in too so was very hard to eat and not very tasty - On paying the overpriced bill (i was charged for a full size Greek salad and no discount on the mezze) The service was slow and sullen too - on reflection i do know that they sell Taramasalata in our local supermarket which was a 1 minute walk around the corner - so nothing stopping someone going to get some from there to serve but obviously no one could be...
Read moreThere was a cooked hair in the garlic bread pizza we ordered , me and my partner informed the staff and she apologized for it. I could over hear the conversation of hers and chef where chef was not ready to accept that there was his hair in the food and girl replied back "do you want to see it?" Girl came back and took the bread asking us if we would like another one. We denied ofcourse , having hair in the food? It's not acceptable, I would have walked off at that moment but me and my partner were celebrating so didn't want to spoil our time. At the end , staff just took the price off for garlic bread and treated like it was just a normal thing. You have a restaurant up and running so it must be completely hygiene and if things go wrong for some reason, a better way should be there to handle when customers don't want to make a big scene. I ignored at that time but it was a ridiculous experience with the hygiene where chef was not even wearing a cap and how the incident was handled with...
Read moreWent to this lovely restaurant last week to introduce some friends to Greek cuisine and we were not disappointed. The menu has a lot of dishes that are Italian however (I guess the aim is to give more Mediterranean options?) so I had to narrow down the list of greek dishes for my friends to try. We had Moussaka, soutzoukakia, pappoutsakia, gemista and souvlaki. The presentation of the dishes did not necessarily look very traditional but once we started eating I could verify that they tasted like the ones at home! The mains could be bigger portions but we had a couple of starters and drinks, so by the end we were feeling full.
Since we were the last group to leave, I had a small chat with the owner and the chef who were very nice and friendly people!
Overall 5 stars for quality of food, ambience, interior design (makes you feel like you are escaping Auckland for a little bit), nice and smooth greek music, service and the smiles of...
