"Today is a rainy Sunday, and I had plans to meet friends for brunch in Takapuna. We found this highly-rated cafe on social media and, on the way there, I called to make a reservation. I was told there would be a 30-minute wait. When I arrived at the cafe, I informed the staff that we had arrived and were waiting for our table. I appreciated that they managed to find a table for two families after the 30-minute wait, despite the cafe being quite busy, especially during meal times.

Once seated, we began chatting and ordered coffee and drinks. It wasn't until after we had finished our coffee that the food started coming out slowly, with pancakes on the menu mentioned to take 20 minutes. This part was a bit puzzling. The first dish arrived after 40 minutes of being seated, and the pace of service was disappointing. While our companions had finished their meals, we were still waiting for two more dishes.

Suddenly, we noticed that the dishes we had ordered were placed on the table of customers who arrived after us. Upon inquiry, it turned out there had been missed two orders. One of them was the pancake. and we were informed that our pancake order would take an additional 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the order, and have to order a quick dish for kids which is a fries. I'm sharing this review not to damage their reputation, but as someone who has dined at many busy cafes, I've never experienced being overlooked in this manner, and it missed two orders. Shouldn't busier times come with better customer service? At the very least, they should ensure all orders are placed?

🍳 Omelette Taste Rating 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 🏮 Review 🏮 The omelette allows you to choose three toppings, and we went with salmon, mushrooms, and spinach. The salmon was a bit salty, and the eggs felt slightly overcooked, giving it a texture resembling a folded omelette with toppings. However, the presentation was nice, and it tasted good with the avocado sauce!

Tried this place out this arvo for brunch and the food was absolutely splendid! One of the best places I've been to eat in AKL in terms of food quality and presentation. Very top notch! It has a little outside balcony sorta sitting area, as well as inside which is pleasant and very accessible to the rest of Taka. Regarding the menu options... plenty for those who are gluten free - so perfect for my girlfriend!

The Paleo brekkie which I had was beautifully presented and very yummy. Delivered within a good 20mins. My gf's gluten free pancake compote was also very nicely presented and very filing and delicious. Only let down was that they totally forgot my smoothie. Ordered one at the start and asked how far away it was when my partner got her coke. The waitress said she checked with the kitchen and it isn't too far away. Soon as our mains came out we knew it wouldn't be coming and proceeded to cancel it. Turns out the man behind the counter wasn't aware that it was ordered?
