After hearing glowing reviews from @jasminekim__ on TikTok, I knew I had to make the journey across Auckland to see if this spot lived up to the hype. Let me tell you, it was worth the trip!
From the moment our dishes arrived, I was impressed with the presentation. Every plate looked thoughtfully crafted, each item both visually unique and absolutely appetizing.
Now, let’s talk about the standouts. The Beef Tartare and Scallop Tataki were hands-down my favourites. The freshness and balance of flavours hit just right. As for the Tenderloin (Scotch), it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, quickly earning my dad’s stamp of approval. On the other hand, the Mackerel missed the mark for my mom, coming off a bit too salty for her liking. The Pancake, while tasty, didn’t quite reach the level of crispiness I was hoping for, but overall, the meal delivered in flavour.
The hospitality here deserves a shout-out. The staff were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to be accommodating. They even provided us with a table leaf, a small gesture I haven’t seen in a while but one that made a big difference.
The restaurant itself is clean and modern, with an amazing view to top it all off. However, finding parking was a bit of a hassle. Next time, I’ll be following their advice and park near the library on 17 Rawene Road or at Hammond Place.
While the food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, I couldn’t help but feel that the menu lacked a clear identity. It’s almost as if the dishes, although great, didn’t tie together into a cohesive experience. That said, I share this with the best intentions—it’s still a fantastic spot...
Read moreWe booked through phone call and when we booked i mentioned we were bringing a child and needed a high chair, they put us down the bottom of the restaurant witch we come to that place for the veiw and were put in the dingy bottom area ,
we had to ask for water for our table and we had to wait ages for 2 beers to be brought to the table after been ordered, I ordered the scotch steak not knowing I had to cook it myself (my fault obviously didnt read it properly) but the stone that they brought out could not get anywhere near hot enough to cook steak, it was stewing it! Took about 25mins to cook and it only come with half a raw baby potatoe and a asparagus the size of my pinky but skinnier was actually ridiculous, when I mentioned something when paying because they asked how the meal was I let them know and no compensation was offered or care factor when paying money like that for steak you have to cook yourself at least bring out grills that are hot enough to cook the meat. And when you ask people how the meal is and they say it isn't the best maybe have a better tactic in place, to say the least service wasn't the best nor was the food and the price you pay is certainly...
Read moreMy recent visit to Lok Green was quite enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. The menu featured a variety of Korean dishes, all of which were well-prepared and flavorful. We ordered - Pork Tofu Stew: deep, rich taste with generous portions of pork and tofu. Beef Tongue: thinly sliced to perfection with a great sauce accompaniment. Nakji Bokkeum: the standout dish with soft octopus, brilliantly seasoned sauce and refreshing noodles.
The Mains come with banchan (side dishes) but the Specials do not. On this occasion they were: kimchi, cucumber salad, stir-fried fish cake, and stir-fried anchovies and peanuts. All classic banchan, great portion size and delicious.
The service staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring that our needs were promptly attended to.
The venue was clean and well spaced with a downstairs inside and outside dining area as well as an upstairs inside and outside...
