BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES THE GOOD: lovely courtyard area, delicious almond hot chocolate, a tasty chicken and bacon salad* THE TERRIBLE: I have an allergy to red onion, and many of the tastiest GF options had red onion. So I ordered the chicken and bacon salad “WITH NO RED ONION” and made that very clear. When my salad was delivered it was noted it was a salad “with no red onion”. My horror was real when over halfway through I came across a small slice of red onion hiding among the shredded red cabbage. I picked it out, filtered through what was left and found half a dozen small slices. When I took the plate with the onion to the counter the reaction was a ho-hum “oh, thanks I’ll let them know”. I stressed that I had an allergy and this garnered no suitable response. If I’d not been watching each mouthful, and eaten any of the onion, the consequences would have been dire (by eating the food that had been in contact I was lucky to just get away with an upset tummy for the rest of the day). But if a similar situation happened to someone with a severe nut allergy, the consequences could have been potentially fatal. Special dietary requests MUST be taken seriously - both in the kitchen and if this brought to the staff’s attention. The “slip up” and the response were highly disappointing and put a dampener on an otherwise wonderful day...
Read moreI used to be a regular at Aroma Cafe, but my recent experience left me disappointed. I ordered an omelet, but it was overcooked, and the onions had a bitter taste. I mentioned this to an older server, but she didn’t seem to care or offer any solution, so I just let it go.
I’m not sure if this was related to the service attitude, but as an Asian customer, I couldn’t help but feel a bit ignored. I hope Aroma Cafe doesn’t have any issues with racial discrimination, as I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere here. However, the decline in food quality was really disappointing. If this continues, I might have to consider other options.
I hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and improves both the food...
