Fix Cafe & Espresso Bar. — Restaurant in North Island

Fix Cafe rescued my day! I was encountering intense coffee withdrawal when I visited Wai-O-Tapu Lady Knox Geyser on a hot 30degree day feeling exhausted (with jelly legs) due to the 7hr Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike that I had completed the day before. I began my search for the top coffee joint in Rotorua after being disappointed by the cafe at the Wai-O-Tapu geothermal wonderland who advised me that they do not serve ice coffee.... Fix Coffee certainly deserve the title of best coffee in town with friendly service and excellent coffee. Today is my second visit to the cafe and I ordered a flat white for my wife and a short black for myself. The flat white is well balanced, rich in flavor with a nice nutty note. My short black on the other hand is deliciously indulging- a Gold syrup just as one of the previous reviews describes it. It’s rich, syrupy, round bodied with a mild nuttiness. An enjoyable hint of acidity with no trace of sourness or bitterness. This is how all coffees should be! My wife asked me if I was angry as she thought I sounded like a growling dog when I tried to savour the aftertaste of the coffee in my mouth... As the saying goes, “All good things come to an end”. As someone who frequents as many coffee shops as I can when traveling to different places & searches reviews for the best ones, Fix Cafe was an absolute GEM during our 3 days in Rotorua. Amazing coffee!

The couple that owns the shop are so lovely & friendly from the moment you walk up to order. On top of that, the Latte is perfectly made and delicious. We came here each morning during our time in Rotorua for coffee, smoothies & a friendly conversation with the owners. They gave us a ton of recommendations for our trip and it felt like a small piece of home away from home while we were there.

10/10 would recommend you swing by this shop during your time in Rotorua. Try the coffee + there are some gluten free snacks (perfect for myself) that are delicious and homemade as well. You won’t be disappointed.
