Weâve visited this spot quite a few times, but this has been the worst. I thought Iâd leave a review to address the issue as it was handled so poorly at the restaurant/cafe itself.
We ordered 4 lunches, sat waiting for our meals for over 30 minutes. When we asked how much longer our food would be, the chefs were shocked and remarked rudely to us âwhat foodâ. The man who took our order had not put it through - a simple mistake. However, what unfolded after made it worse. No compensation for the hour wait (food to hold us over or a coffee to curb the hunger) and the chef aggressively asking âso do u want food or a refundâ. The waiter who took the order never apologised for the mistake, and when we got the food we were never apologised too or even asked if the food was okay or edible. Really really disappointed with the service we received, especially for a spot that charges a higher market price for their dishes that were mediocre at best.
Hope the team working today has some thorough training on what good customer service in the hospitality industry looks like.
Would not recommend - from someone who used to...
Read moreCame here a few weeks back as it was close to where we were staying. Service was quick once weâd ordered but staff were not overly friendly to greet anyone coming through the doors, they all seemed kind of disinterested tbh. It was quite busy and once our order was taken, our food arrived really quickly. But almost too quickly: it arrived before our coffee and with a an under cooked egg. And Iâm not talking over easy with a beautiful runny yolk, like properly uncooked albumen (the clear part of the egg) and raw yolk running out of both our breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches were really sloppy to eat. I donât mind messy food but this was falling apart and I had to eat with a knife and fork which was awkward to do in the bowl it had been served in. And no, a properly cooked egg wouldnât have made a difference to the structure of the sandwich. The flavours of the sandwich were otherwise really tasty, just a minute more on the egg wouldâve made all the difference. Coffee was ok but not amazing. Iâd give this place a second go if they tightened up on...
Read moreI went to Eddieâs and elsbeth this morning seeking pleasure. My senses were instantly bewitched by the delicate aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee. Upon analysing the cabinet I arrived at the conclusion that I would treat myself to a ham, cheese and tomato croissant. My expectations were high I must admit but nothing could prepare me for the journey I was unknowingly about to impart on. The outer layer of pastry flakey, crisp and golden the dough exquisitely buttery with the texture of a tenderised cloud the filling so perfectly cooked, the cheese⊠as if the perfect amount to compliment this work of art had been decided by the gods. My mouth salivating with every bite. This experience only made better by the incredible long black and European like view through the window. This really was a feast for the senses. I dare say I will be backâŠin this life...
