The highlight was the nostalgic old school fish and chips- served on a metal tray lined with a piece of paper (designed to look like vintage newspaper), accompanied with a slice of soft bread and butter, coleslaw, sweet condensed milk dipping sauce and the usual fish and chips tangy white sauce. The dish was perfectly battered and fried and was not oily or heavy. The restaurant Interior decor is simple, tastefully done with a nod to the Art Deco architecture. Walls are adorned with photos, pictures and a painting related to the locations history and fishing community. We took a gamble without a reservation, however we were seated and served immediately by very friendly staff. Despite being busy, our food did not take long to arrive and we were blown away by the delicious fresh quality of the food. The Scallops and the Paua were exceptional! My wife also loved the french dressing on her salad. The relaxed ambience was cozy yet casual with an art-deco theme, and we liked the music - something we could go dancing to! Front of house staff Myron and Charlotte were both so attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the local area. My husband had breaded snapper and l had crab cakes, both served with fries, tartare and coleslaw with condensed milk dressing, a new one for us, but we loved it. Both meals were outstanding and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. We were served by Myone who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We also met the restaurant owner, Victor, and chatted for a while. He is obviously totally passionate about his business and it shows in the decor, staff and quality of meals.
