We were visiting New Plymouth this weekend and stopped in for dinner. Originally we wanted to dine downstairs but were informed it was too busy and we needed to go upstairs which had a different menu. We were disappointed but the atmosphere upstairs was nice so we stayed. One couple in our party went up to order from the dinner menu, then 2 minutes later when my boyfriend and I went to order from the dinner menu we were told that they had just switched over to the snacks menu. This was strange as we told them our friends just ordered their dinner but the staff didn’t seem to care. After waiting a while for the staff to acknowledge us at the bar we ordered two pizzas. The server was impolite and did not seem to pay attention to us which was concerning as we were explaining food allergies. We asked that they put pizza sauce on instead of mayo due to an allergies. Unfortunately, the mayo was replaced with pesto and we were not informed. Luckily, I noticed and told my boyfriend who is allergic to pesto (pine nuts). This could’ve resulted in an allergic reaction and we were shocked that they didn’t inform us of the substitution. The first pizza came out quickly, but we ended up waiting 30mins for the second pizza. When asked the staff about it they apologized and said they forgot about it. The server said that the beer we ordered would be on the house. After checking our statement, we were still charged for the beer. Overall a very disappointing and scary experience. Shout out to the blonde server - she seemed to be doing everything (cleaning tables, running orders, giving us blankets). She was super sweet and made the...
Read moreTerrible service. My mum and I booked a table for 3pm this afternoon for nibbles and drinks. We ordered 2 cocktails at the bar and went to our table. After 10 mins a waitress came to take our food order - jalapenos cheese bites and prawn dumplings. After 40 mins, our food had still not arrived so I went to the bar to check all was ok. After 3 staff (the waitress that took our food order, a barman and a woman who appeared to be the supervisor) muddled about on the till, they said the food had not been ordered. I said it was ok, could they just order it now. They said "no, the kitchen that cooks that is shut now. You can only order pizzas" (no apology). We didn't want a big pizza, so I said I'd just order 2 wines. I told the barman the 2 wines I wanted and he appeared to enter it into the till, and I told him to add them to our tab. I went back to our table, and 15 mins later we still didn't have any wines. My mum went to find out where they were, only to be told that no wines had been ordered! Again, no apology! Just an FYI that they needed our table back by 4.30pm for the next customers! So we paid for the 2 cocktails and left. I can understand hospitality venues being short staffed and we weren't upset about the wait - but to muck up two of our orders in less than an hour, and not apologies or seem to care is not acceptable. Terrible customer service - would not recommend - staff don't seem to have a clue what's going on, how to work a till, take orders or take responsibility for their failings. Very...
Read moreWoooow I love this place xxx I came here for lunch with my family so definitely spacious enough to hold more than 12 people one seating. We ordered their chips which was absolutely delicious and perfect amount. We had chicken wings which were mild spice and just delicious I recommend ordering their chicken wings. Now we ordered probably every pizza on their menu. I only have picture of one which was the chicken jalapeño and I'm going to be straight with you guys, every single pizza was tasty, well balanced flavour and satisfying. We ordered too much pizzas and walked away with a full pizza. The only beverages I ordered was a Pineapple, watermelon Mojito mocktail and a mocha. The pricing is sensible and worth it. The only down fall was, was waiting a while for a mocha (we were one of the first ones there). I didn't have a bad experience. It overlooks Puke Ariki and is.nice and breezy. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE...
