Loco — Restaurant in North Island

Bit of a bizarre experience. Only about 8 people total in the restaurant so not busy. We were seated and given menus. No drinks order taken. After 20 minutes we had to bring the waitress over to get drinks and take our food order. We are waited for an hour and a half and had more drinks than we liked as waited so long. We had to go to the bar as the waitress never came back. Seeing all the front of house and kitchen staff on their phones we thought they must have missed our order. Turns out the waitress forgot to put our order in. She had no other tables as we were the only people left at 9:30 still waiting. Got our food after 2 hrs which was ok, but menu was confusing as to what was a meal or tasting/ sharing plates. Went there for an engagement dinner. We got served our desserts mains and starters at the same time when we did not ask for that. Talked to a lovely server who apologised but by this point we had tried to make do and just tried to eat what we could. We then got home and were sick and had diarrhoea and we threw away our mains we took home as take out because we were sick and worried about making it worse. Tried messaging them on instagram as that was how they promoted to get in touch and they didn't reply. Absolutely ruined what was supposed to be a really special moment for me and my partner that we had saved up for. Not happy won't go again tbh completely gutted the rest of our day was absolutely perfect and I feel angry that this spoiled a really special moment in me and my partners life. Manager must have over booked and when noticed we were still ordering drinks advised us that one of the person from our group was stumbling and she couldn’t serve which we agreed but she came back and she said she is not comfortable serving anyone and put a sign down for a booking for 6.30 pm. I asked her why she did this and she said she is not comfortable serving us anymore and that she had booking st 6.30 had nothing to with it. She stayed hidden after that and made someone else take the payment from us. I have never had such poor service any where in Whangarei ever. Your poor management doesn’t constitute for emergency on my part especially when we are spending roughly $100-$200 per person every hour at your establishment.
