Bamboo Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in South Island

Several visits. I have a background in the Restaurant / food industry Internationally and NZ .. Staff are very good apart from one person I assume is the boss/owner/manager running around and seems to blunt and not suitable for client interaction as I watched her many times being abrupt with clients especially in Takeaway area. Seems to be micromanaging and staff look uncomfortable when she gets involved with their job. Ive never seen so many things being offered in a restaurants/takeaway with advertising everywhere with different signs showing deals that even conflict with existing menu items? Also when dealing with pre orders for pickup many times the person picking up gets confused with how they are asked what option they did purchase to follow with person "as above" not being very sympathetic and helpful to sort issue even though the person had paid online ,then getting no order to then be told pay again and they will make it 🙄 Re food as in takeaway , Often was not great and lacked taste even with the sauces. As I often have asian food I wouldn't recommend this place to be your first choice ...

Went to the Bamboo garden over the last weekend for Dinner very disappointing , the corn fritters I Ordered were over cooked and chewy and just corn there was no other obvious ingredient that stood out in the dish, I could have made a better corn fritter at home. For the Main I ordered Orange Beef with Crushed Cashews, with a zesty Sweet sauce, The dish was unbalanced with chunks of Broccoli and cauliflower as each end of the plate with a pile of Orange Beef piled in the middle of the plate , the zesty sweet sauce was way to sweet I felt like I was eating a desert with chunks of meat mixed into it, and the cashews were not crushed they were whole , No rice was served with the dish that had to ordered as a side dish There's was way to much Beef that needed to be halved and the sauce needs to be less sweet at least and the broccoli and cauliflower served as in smaller pieces, rice needs to be included in that dish price, again I have cooked similar dishes and feel once again I could have done a better job at cooking this ...

EXTREMELY Average could have been better chow mein appeared to have 2 minute noodles in it the Fried rice no flavour at all sweet and sour pork was decent but needed a bit more seasoning we ordered the D special which had Pork fried rice, Wontons, Chow mein, chicken and vegetable and Sweet and sour pork After picking it up and returning home we noticed that the Wontons and Chicken and vegetable were missing after another 20 minutes wait the delivered it to our house we were greeted with a very friendly staff member that had apologized deeply but sadly the Wontons were disgusting they smelt foul and tasted like some mystery meat the chicken and vegetable though was probably the best Meal on the table such a shame that it took so long Overall the praise they receive as the best Chinese food in blenheim makes me terrified of what else is served across the town some serious work needs to be done to the Recipes and a reworked price as it is a little to expensive for the quality of the food such a shame but your staff are very...
