My partner and I headed to Margo's for our anniversary dinner on a Friday night. We had made a reservation and we were happy to have a table waiting for us upon arrival. We were approached by our server not too long after being seated and he had come over to explain a few of the options that were on the food and drink menu. We got the Mango Margherita and Gin & Ginger Beer (I believe) drink, it was a bit spicy but was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. We also ordered the Coconut Shrimp as our appetiser, and if this wasn't my first experience, I probably would have ordered this as my main and also my dessert option as well. It was amazing. Very different than I have had anywhere else and I couldn't figure out all the spices! Which I had to ask after because it was delicious and very different and fresh as well.

Our main course, my partner and I decided to try the fish taco, chicken, and pork belly. I would have never ordered the pork belly on my own, but it was definitely the highlight of my evening. Even more than the amazing Coconut Shrimp! Also extremely yummy.

We also ordered the Steak Carne Fajita which was nice and sizzled upon arrival and was cool to create our own little fajitas with the warm wraps that were kept in foil paper.

We ended our evening with the traditional Cinnamon Churros which was also really yummy and definitely a good option that we shared one service as we were quite satisfied and full from our dinner.

We are very happy with our first experience and the atmosphere was amazing, including the lighting and the service.

We also got to witness a birthday, which was super cool where their ring some bells, bring over the sombreros to the birthday boy and which then, given a tequila shot to go along with the tequila song.

Super cool, super enthusiastic staff, and really cool view I had of the bartenders doing their thing all night making and creating beautiful drinks to be served up one table at a time.

Thanks Margo's for an amazing experience, happy to have shared our anniversary at such an amazing place and space. Can't wait for more coconut shrimp and pork belly...

The food here is generally pretty good. Not exceptional, but good. Unfortunately it’s hard to overlook the atrocious service. To be fair to the servers, it wasn’t bad because they were rude or anything. All the staff were pretty nice. It was bad because of them messing up our order, bringing the wrong dish to our table, making us wait 35 minutes to get our drinks. Its hard to get over our first experience of being seated at our table and then receiving absolutely no service for the next 15 minutes until one of our party had to finally stand up and ask a server if we could at least get some water while we waited. 5 minutes later (a total of 20 minutes after we were seated) a server finally came to take our drink orders. We went ahead and ordered our full dinner as well because we were afraid we might not see the server again for a while. Another 15 minutes later our drinks finally came except one of the drinks was brought with ice even though it was ordered without. A minor mistake which was excacerbated by the 35 minute wait. 10 minutes later we started receiving our apps however we were never brought silverware or napkins. With no servers in sight we were not sure if we would have to get up again to find someone. Thankfully we were sitting close to the server stand so we ended up just grabbing napkins and silverware ourselves. The food started arriving and we were fully served 1hr after being sat.

Again the food was good, just hard to get over the feeling of being forgotten at your table and having to get up yourself to get basics like silverware and napkins. That’s good enough for a taco stand but not an establishment that is trying to provide a full...

When any of our family visits Queenstown, it is tradition to visit Margo's.

Since last being here 4 years ago, I must say that it did not let me down. The service was amazing. With a slight complication in booking through a third party website, we arrived early to make sure we had a table. The Booking had not gone through and even though it was a busy time of the evening, the staff were very understanding and managed to get us a table within 5 minutes.

Our waiter was amazing, polite and had a really positive nature that was approachable. He was informative, giving context to serving sizes and made the evening run nice and smoothly.

The atmosphere was great, nice music, and while the place was quite full (as this was during the holidays) it wasn't too loud and not crowded at all.

The food was as good as I remembered it to be, with the main reason for my return, the Duck Tacho's being a major highlight. My partner and I bought one Fried Chicken Taco and one Goat Taco alongside the Duck Nachos. This was a great serving size for two people. I would highly recommend to anyone for Tacos, to get the Chicken Taco, and most certain get the Duck Nachos as they can be shared between two.

Margo's is great for all numbers, and offers a range of food options, even for picky eaters. I had been raving to my girlfriend about Margo's and it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend...

Good food with great service. For starters we had the salmon ceviche and coconut tempura prawns which were both good (although serve sizes were a bit small). We then ordered 3 different tacos, all of which were great but the standout was the pork longaniza taco (yum -- would order again). For mains we had the pork belly fajita. This one was a bit average, though have to say the pork belly was very tender and cooked really well. The only below average dish we had was the churros which were a bit doughy. Service was excellent. Food arrived fast and the staff were very friendly and would often check in if we needed anything more. The atmosphere of the place is very nice and cozy. Take note there is a strong smell of onions all over the place and it tends to stick to your clothes. Might be the result of all the tables having sizzling plates of fajitas at the same time. Overall, would happily recommend this restaurant.
