WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WORST RESTAURANT IN LAKEFRONT QUEENSTOWN
Our last 6 days of family road trip travel from Christchurch to Queenstown has been one for the books but was ruined tonight by this restaurant.
After checking in our hotel, we decided to go to the lake to grab some quick dinner after a long day of Milford sound cruise and get to see the beauty of Queenstown for the last time before we head back to Auckland. But, our last night turns sour as we have the WORST EXPERIENCE from this overrated Pedro restaurant at the lakefront. We ordered a large plate venison which is a rip off for $45 for the taste, portion and presentation.
Bread basket which is colder than the lake for $9. Fish n’ chips is below average, the takeaways are way way better (don’t waste your money).
Rose sangria which has 70% ice and 20% drink. And the worst of all, garlic prawn tapas that took 40 mins to be served. After the looooonnnngggg wait, we were served with prawn swimming with oil and tasted like frozen prawns from the supermarket.
The service was very poor, and the waiting time was about from 30-40 minutes long, for the garlic prawn dish really??
My husband and kids are about to finished with their meal but my garlic prawn is pending for plating?? followed up twice?? (they should’ve come up with a good alibi). We still paid for the food and left.
Don’t waste your money for this kind of service, not a good way of ending a...

Below average experience put our orders in and waited for 10mins for our first entree to come out. That was good timing. We ordered 4 entrees in our order the next thing to come was one of mains. This was 30mins after our first entree.
We asked for the main to be taken back which they did. We then waited another 40mins for our other 3 entrees to come out. By this stage our experience was somewhat ruined.
In the meantime they were quite happy to continue to come over and ask if we wanted drinks....
The manager came over to talk to us and he wouldn't take any ownership of their mistakes except just blaming the fact they are low staffed. I can understand that but to not be able to bring food out at the same time don't over book your restaurant.
On top of this we got stung with the 15% surcharge...
At the end of the night they bought us a free Bailieys by this stage we were well over it.
For it to be an engagement night it disappoints me alot.
Won't be back anytime soon sorry, even though the food...
Read moreWe arrived and asked for a table for two. The restaurant was busy. The male staff member who greeted us apologized that there were no tables available, but if we were prepared to wait until a party left, then we could have the first table that became available. His service was polite and welcoming. We chose to wait for a table. Finally, when one cleared, and as we’re taking our seats two female staff members came over and told us they were too busy to accept additional guests. We explained that a staff member had told us we would be served if we were prepared to wait. At this point, the helpful male staff member appeared and verified he said we could dine.
The two women steamrolled him and said No, we’re overriding that - You can’t eat here tonight and then asked us to leave.
So we did. Never to return.
These two women completely wasted our time, made their teammate look foolish in front of guests, and were rude to guests. I get that it was a busy restaurant, but you don’t treat guests like that. Try the Public up the road instead, much better service...
