Starbucks Queenstown — Restaurant in South Island

Requested a piccolo latte, the server expressed its not on the menu and offered a short cup flat white. I expressed, "No worries, so long as it's not filled to the brim/single shot ratio to the milk." The lovely server put piccolo on the order sticker, yet both drinks still arrived from the barista as short flat whites filled to the brim, showing no care or concern for the outcome. Not on just one beverage but 2.

Being an ex partner and store manager, I chose starbucks for consistency as we wanted a quick caffeine fix, wifi hotspot, and warm spot to stop for a moment and recalibrate after a big day. I would've thought the Starbucks third place love would still ring true across the ditch, but it was a mild letdown, with no smiles and inability to make a beverage from a printed sticker. I thought Starbucks had a good reputation! Today it was terrible. There were 6 of us. It was total chaos at the till where orders were being taken. We placed our orders and then were up and down like yoyos as they were called out and shoved thru a narrow gap by the coffee machine. We were almost finished but my husband still hadnt got his order. I went to check and they hadnt even got it out of the cabinet to heat it. Along came a waitress with a large plastic container to pick up dirty dishes. She dumped it on the table and asked everyone to pass their dirty dishes when not all of us had even finished. Surely this could wait till weve actually left the table. NOT good enough Starbucks. Just don’t like the staff there yesterday was kind of not in a mood to sell and not explained exactly what is the milk preference I asked for. I asked lady Cashier about the preferred milk but she told me the lactose free milk is not available in Woolworths NZ as well. I am a traveler from Australia where Starbucks has lactose free milk options. I understand this isn’t available in NZ which cashier told me but rather misguided me about this is not available in Woolworths (I literally bought this yesterday) Starbucks needs to change whole management here, I read the similar reviews down so it’s not me just faced this issue. I won’t be coming back and would recommend people to go to other coffee shops, there are tons of them...
