Golden Rooster Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I recently visited The Golden Rooster, and while the food was still as tasty as ever, there were a few disappointments. First off, the wait was incredibly long. We were left waiting for quite some time, which definitely put a damper on the experience.

Another issue was the portion sizes. They seemed noticeably smaller than what I remember from previous visits. It was a bit disappointing to see, especially given the prices, which haven’t dropped to match the smaller servings.

That said, the food itself was still really good. The flavours were on point, and everything was cooked well. If you’re not in a rush and don’t mind the reduced portions, you’ll probably still enjoy the meal, but it might not be quite the same as before.

Have been here several times but just back again for dinner with some friends dining in. The restaurant is not too big but sitting arrangement is comfortable. As for the food the taste is consistent and is good. Large serving and affordable pricing. They have a very special lunch deal for only $10.00 and there are many dishes to select from. However the service was not satisfactory. The young lady waitress was only interested in new customers coming through the door. I am a repeat customer for one dish in this resto in uber eats. I am always satisfied with the food that comes but yesterday, I ordered Beef Brisket (the usual) and to my surprise, I feel like I am cheated on. When the food arrived, content looks same quantity as previous order but NO, underneath those beef was tons of bokchoy leaves and broccoli stalk. I have never imagined they have done this. 1st phot if from the resto photo, 2nd photo is from my previous ubereats order with no bokchoy and third is from yesterday ubereats order where 70% bokchoy and 30% beef.
