It was my first time going. The food was amazing. We had Rosu, assorted and curry. Tender, soft, thick, crispy, dipping sauces were all nice as well. I would definitely visit again for food.
I would like to leave some genuine feedbacks though. There were some stains and dust stuck on the spoons. Red, green, black.. I assume red ones are pepper power from spicy mayo. I went to change, they changed it for me, but new ones were not much different from the first ones. I didn’t want to go and ask again so I just wiped it by myself. (Forgot to take photos of curry and spoons cause I didn’t know I would write a review)
The FOH staff looked really busy. I feel like they would need another staff for better service. The time I went was around 5pm. They were already some tables and takeaway customers. Also, the staff was wearing slippers, it’s comfortable totally understandable, however, when he gets busy and have to walk around busily, the flapping sound coming from the slippers was quite distracting.
Food literally covered everything. It’s not a complaint, I just hope this wonderful place becomes even more wonderful. I wish I could recommend this place to others without any bad comments. (Sorry for the bad photos, again I didn’t know I would...

On our second visit, we were pleasantly surprised. We tried the Rosu and Hire Katsu, and both were delicious, crispy, juicy, and much better balanced. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made for a much more enjoyable dining experience. It seems like the place has improved, and we’re glad we gave it another try! :)
————————— We tried the Tonkatsu Rosu and the Cheese Katsu. Both were well-seasoned and tasty, though they were a bit on the oily side. We also noticed that the portions in the set didn’t match – one set had less rice and cabbage salad than the other. While we understand the menu offers unlimited cabbage, it would be nice if the portions were more consistent. The restaurant was quite busy when we visited, with only two staff members – one in the kitchen and one up front. We wanted to request more salad, but they were understandably too busy to accommodate us. Additionally, we could see that the kitchen was quite a mess from where we were sitting, which affected the overall atmosphere. The ventilation could have been better, as the smell of oil and grease lingered on...
Read moreJust Katsu is a fantastic restaurant specializing in exceptional katsu, just as its name suggests. Located conveniently among the East Asian eateries on Rosedale Road, it’s easy to find. The restaurant has a cozy, café-like atmosphere with a unique charm.
The menu features katsu sets and soba sets, with options for both hot and cold soba. My partner ordered the cold soba, her favourite, while I tried their signature Tonkatsu Rosu - a pork katsu dish. The katsu was thick and satisfying, with a perfect, crispy coating.
It came with three different dipping sauces: one mildly spicy, a BBQ-style sauce, and a salt & wasabi dip. It was fun experimenting with each, and I especially enjoyed the combination of the salt & wasabi and spicy sauces. My partner particularly liked the spicy sauce.
Both the soba and katsu were incredibly delicious, and I can’t wait to return and order the Tonkatsu Rosu again. Highly...
