TOO FAT BUNS — Restaurant in Waiheke

What I ordered: Beefy Bun and potato fries. Overall conclusion: pretty nice! 😊

These guys were experts and prepping the bun. Slightly toasted and fresh tasting. Generous portion of lettuce and tomato (which also tasted fresh and not like they were stuffed in a fridge beforehand!). The beef patty, not the best and not the worst I’ve had. Somewhere in the middle. Beware, the patty I had was quite pink in the centre, which I don’t mind, but others may find that off-putting. It may have been intentional to ensure the patty wasn’t too dry tasting but I’m not sure. The outside of it was delicious though, grilled/seared quite well.

The chips were very good, a fine balance of crispy outer shell with a soft centre (and covered with chicken salt, bonus points!).

Great customer service, the fellow at the till was very welcoming and let us know wait times on food. He also offered to give us tomato sauce for the chips if we needed. He was very polite and friendly overall.

The seating area is fine, a little cozy for big people but if you’re average/small sized you’ll be fine haha.

We were supposed to have lunch at a winery but after reading reviews and seeing photos of their burgers I cancelled our booking and we are sooooooo happy we did. Quite honestly it was the best burger we have ever eaten, ever.

We both had the Big Beefy (I had bacon as an add on)… wow. Just wow.

Every single 5 star review is 100% bang on. The freshest ingredients, juiciest meat, prepare to get messy.in a great way.

The chips were fantastic although we only needed 1 serve not 2! We are so full, fat and happy.

It cost us $85 each to come over on the ferry and get the hop on hop off and this was the highlight of our day. It’s very easy to see how they’ve won so many awards.

The owner is an amazing human being and his passion for sourcing local produce and creating brilliant food is evident from the second you arrive in the alley situated groovy cafe.

Arrived on Waiheke Island and Was Looking Forward to finding a Amazing Place to Grab a Meal.Looking at All the Reviews lead me to Two Fat Buns.Its started Getting Busy When I arrived around 5 pm so Ordered the Man Bun as It looked and Sounded Yummy.The Decor was Nice and was great to be Greeted with a Smile when I ordered.Took about 25 mins to complete the order but was well worth the Wait.Burger was Moist,Juicy,Full of Flavour with Fresh Ingredients used.The Taste was very unique and So Good.If you go to or are on Waiheke Island,I Highly Recommend trying these Mind Blowing Burgers to see why Everyone raves about them.I fully enjoyed it and would go back again on...
