Waihi Memorial RSA (Inc) IN WAIHI TOWN — Restaurant in Waikato

We stopped at the Waihi RSA on our way through. I checked my watch as we pulled into the carpark, it was 19.31. I parked and walked up to the restaurant. All the lights were on the warmer and the vegetables were hot with a nice meat joint on the counter. The staff then stated "We are closed". After further questioning we were told it was a quiet night so they closed early. Despite various requests we were refused service. As a fully paid up member of the Waihi Beach RSA I can thoroughly reccomend them. I had the misfortune to be served by 'Paul'. My question is....Why on earth is he in a position of Customer Service?? "Home away from home" and "always be sure of a warm welcome" is stated on the website. No smiling during the entire interaction and carrying out his duties i.e. taking orders and serving drinks seemed to be more of an inconvenience to him! 😠 Our family was out to enjoy a special occasion but his behaviour is unacceptable at this time-honoured establishment. However in complete contrast, the restaurant staff were outstanding. Rocked up with our group of 14 and were impressed with the lovely lady behind the bar who made us all feel welcomed. She set us up splendidly with a beautiful smile.

Compliments to the Chef for providing us all with superb meals that tasted devine and cooked to perfection. Awesome staff who worked tirelessly to ensure our meals were served with professionalism and the quality were outstanding, thank you for making our elderly feel special.
