Chargrill Kebabs & Burgers — Restaurant in Waitematā

Last night my friend and I headed to Chargrill Kebabs and Burgers. We have been here quite a few times due to it being open 24 hours and selling Shisha. Last time we went we we're told they weren't serving Shisha as it was "too windy". This time we were told the same thing (despite the fact there was no wind). After pointing this out we we're reluctantly given shisha. We felt the older gentlemen working was quite rude and once we had finished I went to ask why they often stop serving Shisha when it gets later. What this resulted in was a tirade of abuse from the older gentlemen, he swore, screamed and was very abuse to the point he hit my phone out of my hand which caused me to call the police. Customers quickly left the store as he continued yelling obsenities at my friend and I. Never before have I experienced such aggression and abuse from a business. At one point he came out from behind the counter holding a knife saying "do you want me to kill myself". Eventually he took money out of the till to give us a "refund". The name was suggested to us by one of our friend and we went there with family about three weeks ago. There was only one guy who was taking orders and serving as well. The food was ok but the chef was RUDE AS HELL. We asked him politely to lower the volume of the music but he said he can’t and said that we should go to other table if the volume is disturbing us. I was shocked as I was with my family. We shifted the table as the music was annoying us and we were not able to enjoy the food and can’t even listen to each other. I eventually told the guy that please you should listen to the customer but he said NO and showed us a hole in the wall and said that this has been done by the customers as well, while they had a fight in the restaurant. We couldn’t even finish our food and left. It’s a humble request to the manager that he should take notice of it and at least hire some good staff who can at respect...

Came here based on decent yelp reviews for the other Chargrill and ordered a couple pizzas. You can see what they look like below. Kinda overdone, dried out, and missing the pizza sauce. I asked the guy at the counter about it and he assured me there was sauce on it. I then asked for “extra” so we would add it ourselves. He said he couldn’t give me any because it was “raw” and needed to be cooked 1st. I don’t know if pizza sauce is different in NZ, but last I checked there is no raw component of pizza sauce. Possible that what he had was old sauce that needed the bacteria nuked out of it, but I didn’t really want to think about it. Have not found good pizza in Auckland yet, but...
