Restaurant Review: Raviz Indian Cuisine
I recently dined at Raviz Indian Cuisine on dated 30th March, and while I had high hopes for a delightful Indian meal, my experience fell short in several areas.
To start on a positive note, the food itself was decent enough, and the starters were handled well when I requested that mushrooms be excluded due to dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, things took a turn with the mains, which surprisingly arrived with mushrooms included despite my earlier requests. This not only reflected a lack of attention to detail but also made it challenging for us to enjoy our meal fully.
Additionally, we learned that the restaurant charges for extra containers for leftovers—a detail that was never communicated to us beforehand. This felt a bit sneaky, particularly when combined with the overall experience.
The food itself was a mixed bag. While I could appreciate the flavors, the overall rating for the meal would be around 5/10, especially if you're extremely hungry. The plates we received were cold, and I had to ask for warm dishes—a request that shouldn't have been necessary. Furthermore, the glasses for water were not clean, and there was an unpleasant smell lingering from them.
The ambiance suffered as well. While we were trying to enjoy our dinner, two staff members began cleaning the windows right beside us, which disrupted the atmosphere and felt unprofessional. I also couldn't help but notice the naan chef walking past our table, giving us a series of judgmental looks, as if we were aliens in his restaurant.
The customer service left much to be desired. Touching naan with their hands right in front of us seemed a bit unsanitary, and the overall approach felt inattentive.
VEGETARIAN HAKKA NOODLES has no vegetables in it even afterer specially requested for it, had few slices of carrot and spring onion.
In summary, while Raviz Indian Cuisine has potential, significant improvements are needed in terms of food quality, customer service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed, and based on this experience, I wouldn't rush back. A solid 5/10...
Read moreI have been going in this restaurant since 2012. Me and my family just went last week for dinner. We had a very bad experience with food and staff. the quality of the food is totally change now. Staff behaviour is absolutely inappropriate. I would like to say, what actually was happened to us.
We ordered Vegetable Korma. and This curry came with only green peas, paneer and cauliflower I went to manager ( Turban Guy ) and asked him , this is not vegetable korma as that curry did not have any single ingredient as per menu. And him and his one of the staff member literately said that this is what it is and ignored me. After we finish our dinner, when i went to counter to pay bill , i mention about korma again and he asked his staff member to bring that curry to counter and he realised that this is not korma. I told him now you realised after you seen by your eyes. I do not want my money back but you should come and see it while i came first time to you.
His behaviour was rude as. He did not even say sorry or thank you. As a manager of this big and well known restaurant he should not behaving like this to the customers. As well as Him and his staff needs to learn how to smile and talk with customer. Also, they have change quality of their all Vegetable food ( I have no idea about Non vege as we are vegetarian. ).
I would not recommend to people to go in this restaurant. ( specially if you want a quality food and good...
Read moreOne of the most horrible incident and experience we had with Raviz Restaurant- Hobson street. Date - 31/5/20 Time - 9 -930 pm FOUND COCKROACH/Insect in the food served to us. And when questioned about the pest control to when it was last inspected there was not an appropriate reply by the Manager on Duty. Even as per the Liquor License law the - Manager on Duty was also not named on the floor as per the liquor licensing law. When contacted to the owner to discuss I was been threatened that I will be trespassed from the restaurant. Having said the consumer has a rights to know if they are spending their money and getting back to what they deserve. Rather being apologizing for the situation I was be threatened. According to the hospitality terms definitely this is going to be out there on all social media platform letting people know the WORST and danger food they can serve on the premises. My Friends who has joined us for the dinner had a tummy upset who had consumed the soup she had ordered. Definitely will need to raise this incident with the Auckland council health board and request them to check the premises as per the standards. Definitely not a great place to be out there for dinning. The level of service has been...
