Dong De Moon — Restaurant in Waitematā

I am absolutely blown away by Dong De Moon! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance is so welcoming and cozy, and the smells coming from the kitchen are absolutely mouthwatering.

But the real star of the show was the chicken deopbap. Oh my goodness, it was absolute perfection. The chicken was so juicy and tender, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. But the real magic was in the sauce - it was so flavorful and well-balanced, and it really brought the dish to the next level. I've had a lot of Korean food in my life, but this was definitely one of the best dishes I've ever had.

But it wasn't just the food that impressed me - the service was top-notch as well. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience.

I can't recommend Dong De Moon enough. If you love delicious Korean food and great service, this is definitely the place to go. I'll definitely be back soon to try some more of their...

Ordering Staff greet you immediately once you step in the restaurant. Find a seat, check the menu, order your food. You pay after the meal.

Picking your autistic seat I failed to take a video, even a photo of this place. When I sit down, there’s a guy facing me two seats away. I reckon it would look too aggressive taking videos. So I waited for a while, then another guy came to sit facing me one seat away 🤷. Anyway please reference other people’s photos.

Water & Napkins Actually it’s been a while. I vaguely remember staff brings a jug of water and a cup to you. The table has a drawer, it got napkins and cutlery in it.

Food - 9/10 Just look at the plate and side dishes. $16 for that in today’s economy? Plus it’s very delicious.

Overall I will give this restaurant...

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the poor experience my party and I had at your establishment.

First, due to the language barrier with our server, one of the three main dishes we ordered was missing from our meal. While miscommunication can happen, the overall service and food quality were unacceptable.

The dishes served were far below standard—specifically, the grilled eel was visibly burnt (as shown in the attached photo). When we brought this to the attention of the manager (a male staff member), he did not even offer an apology. His only "solution" was to replace the burnt portion with another piece of the same overcooked eel, which was utterly unsatisfactory.

The only reason we dined at your restaurant was that many other places were closed on Monday. I strongly advise others to avoid this place, as both the service and food quality are severely lacking.

I expect proper acknowledgment of this issue and a resolution. Please respond at your earliest...
