We booked here for 3 nights, everything was going well. Until 3rd night the Emergency system went off for our floor, the 22nd floor really early in the morning. So we do whats right and evacuated the room and went down 22 ish floors.
While going down I we opened the door that said ground floor and it opened to a restaurant a staff member jumped in and stopped us saying we cannot be here, I was puzzeled as he had no idea and he said you cannot come here its the next floor down. So i go one more floor but that took us to the basement and we could not come back up.
If it was not for that interaction with the male staff member the rating would of been better.
Also the communication was horrible. Imagine if I had an elderly person with me there is no way they would go down 2 floors let alone 22 floors.
There were no wardens in any of the floors. No body to interact with just a terrible experience.
Their fire escape plan needs to be audited. Some authority needs to run a check on them plus their evacuation plan and communication skills.
The escape route is very poor we ended up in the basement and luckily there was a worked there to help us. The guy in the basement was great and he was shocked the guy at the upper level told us to go down.
One we went upstairs, the alarm went off again, i called reception and their response sorry we are trying to figure out how to turn it off again. Then a short while later it went off again all during the time of our checkout.
I asked to speak to a manager and they told me we can give you an email address, then it never happened.
Such a shame as the place is great, awesome location, and rooms are nice, it always has to be that one staff member the ruins it, that staff member needs to be trained/retrained.
Get staff to communicate better and actually help people when a fire occurs vs pushing them back down stairs. Simplest thing he could of done is tell us to go through the...
Read moreBeing slightly undertraveled, have always had a misconception about particular hotels being the peak of luxury, or as good as it gets. I had my socks knocked off in the best of ways checking in to the Voco this morning and my mind has been changed forever.
The second I hop out of my uber and pull out my phone to call the Voco about check in times - I receive an incredibly friendly call from the front desk staff offering an upgrade and their assurances, as well as being incredibly accomodating and checking us in earlier than expected. We were STUNNED for the second time with how smooth, thorough, kind and helpful the staff are every step of the way. Our stay couldn’t have possibly been made easier.
We were absolutely wowed by the room when we arrived up stairs - the view is completely unbeatable with the Harbor and the sky tower right out the window.. and the view from the bath tub, are you kidding?
The amenities are phenomenal, we were offered a preemptive back up solution for any wifi login troubles without even asking, which immediately helped me relax.
We were extended the aid of their fantastic concierge service to haul our bags upstairs and were treated the kindest we ever have been when travelling with my young child. We were treated like any other paying adult guest and have been incredibly grateful for this, it is a very underrated and yet not always common courtesy. My daughter is already having a very special and unforgettable 7th birthday and first trip to Auckland. The Waitematā suite is exactly like the website images! So worth investing in your peace and indulgence.
I can’t thank the team enough! Everything is clean, comfortable, beautiful, relaxing, fabulous! We also indulged in a little room service before experiencing breakfast in the coming days and I have to say I’m a big fan. I wish I could rate this experience MORE than 5 stars. Thank you,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Voco Auckland, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The check-in staff, especially Kate, were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was perfect.
The room itself was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It was evident that the hotel takes great pride in providing a clean and comfortable environment for its guests. The stunning views from the room added an extra touch of luxury and made my stay even more memorable.
One of the highlights of my time at Voco Auckland was the bar on the 38th floor. It truly took the experience to the next level. The panoramic views of the city were breathtaking, and the ambiance of the bar was sophisticated and inviting. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a drink after a long day.
I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of having filtered water available on each level for guests to refill their water bottles. It's a small detail, but it made a big difference in ensuring that I stayed hydrated throughout my stay.
The bed in my room was incredibly comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep. The water pressure in the shower was great, adding to the overall comfort and convenience of my stay. And of course, the stunning views of Auckland from the room were the icing on the cake.
In conclusion, my experience at Voco Auckland was nothing short of exceptional. From the amazing check-in staff like Kate, to the exceptionally clean room, stunning views, next-level bar on the 38th floor, filter water on each level, comfortable bed, great water pressure, and stunning views of Auckland, every aspect of my stay was top-notch. I highly recommend Voco Auckland to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in the heart...
