Place with nice atmosphere, waitresses gentle but too long to order we needed to call them cause on a booth style table so cannot see us. I'll suggest as any other restaurant to have 10 minutes wait then go to the customer to check if ready to order. We know they always help to cut the long slab of beef to assist customers to put it into the grill but just handle the tray with two scissors and no even mention if we wanted them to cut the beef, this is always asked to customers by waitresses when eating at restaurants where they offer yakiniku. Beef was different than other yakiniku restaurants and too fatty definitely not suitable to children where in Japan/Korea is a tradition to go all Family where kids love yakiniku. Pricey for what you eat. The six side dishes included was a joke very miniature size and we order quite a lot of meat. Yakiniku sauce was not even a tea spoon each person for all meat we ordered, we needed to ask for more waiting to get the attention of waitresses not checking if we were alright and everything was fine. Not going back at all.
Second visit by my family request I was hoping something may have improved. 6 April: Unwelcoming unexpressive girl looked clearly annoyed to be there. When we entered she said hi but looking at us with a very serious face and sounded really annoyed and upset. I have replied with a big smile and saying hi sounded happy trying to cheer her up and telling her my name as booked a table online.........not a chance she was definitely no welcoming us and not adding a single word keeping her facials expression so upset unsure if something's really nad just happened to her before we came in. She literally run to a table with some menus and so we just followed he. Not even the courtesy to tell us or show us the way with a hand gesture. Extremely rude and off-putting her behaviour, if I wasn't with my wife and daughter I would her left without without hesitation to let her understand she cannot treat Customers like that. She looked like a spoiled children. Another Asian couple next to use left without even finishing their meal! They looked visibly not happy at all. Another girl with glasses was friendly and nice. Meat for set grill was way too fatty way too expensive. Beef stew was good and tender as it should be but very small and pricey. Some music also should be played to create some atmosphere, people go to a restaurant not because they can't cook what you offering but to have an experience. You place looks like a dungeon...
Read moreI booked for 5 adults and 3 children for an 8th birthday party a week ago. Having dined at Faro Newmarket on at least 3 other occasions in recent years, I found the service, in particular from the lady (owner?) at the counter, rude and disappointing.
A drink was accidentally spilled and I was given stern and annoyed looks, while tutting as the lady unwillingly cleaned up. I apologised and also helped to clean up but through her attitude was made to feel pretty uncomfortable. I received stares throughout our dinner, as we were seated directly opposite the counter.
She came over on one occasion to pick up two pieces of cutlery that had dropped on the floor, and ignored all the dishes that could have been cleared.
When I asked for the birthday cake to be brought out, my husband was told there would be a $12 cake fee much to our surprise. There were conditions listed as part of the online booking, including a corkage fee but no mention of a cake fee. And it was not mentioned when I arrived and asked for the cake to be store in the fridge (same lady who served me). When he asked why there was a cake fee, the reply was that there would be "plates and cutlery to clean". When the cake was brought out, we received paper plates and plastic forks!
We frequently dine at restaurants and this is the first time we've been charged such a substantial cake fee without...
Read moreIt's rare we visit a restaurant and all of us love every dish ordered, especially when a majority of us aren't familiar with the place, cuisine and even some of the key ingredients.
Chicken, beef and prawns were our meats of choice in order of preference & quantity/number of dishes ordered. They were all awesomely flavoured, the BBQ grilling's pretty simple & works great, the sides/extras were exciting to try and unexpected in their taste :D
People who usually dislike beef and one that doesn't eat seafood more than 1-2 times a year loved the deliciousness infused within! Try a couple of appetizers and get into the mains (with rice)... having already eaten a meal an hour before arriving, I still slowly over-stuffed myself in the great couple of hours we spent here.
Decent drinks menu (odd that the likeable Plum Iced Tea didn't have ice/wasn't chilled, but hey, it's winter so that worked out well for me), ... quick & good service (extra tissues would be appreciated beyond the 1 each on the table), ... lively & enjoyable ambience with cool seating options, ... incredible food (no desserts, though?) for a cost that's worth it, ... you'll undoubtedly leave smelling of it all, too. . . so, mostly a super...
