Guangzhou Hotpot — Restaurant in Waitematā

Went there as a group of 8, got a room to ourselves. They provide aprons with a cute pocket for your phone. The spicy seafood soup base was really rich, umami, and not salty at all. Coconut water based chicken pot was sweet and full of flavour, need to add a bit of salt if you don't prefer a sweet soup for meat though.

The ingredients came with the pots themselves is already quite a lot (especially meat), so wouldn't recommend ordering too much extra.

The salted egg fish skin is really fresh, definitely recommend. Clay pot rice is really good, best was the one with pork and sausage. The clay pot rice with salted fish is good too but ummm just be careful you might bite on a huge chunk of salted fish, super fragrant though,...

Amazing dining experience, loved the booth style dining, it gave my family and I a homely feel. Staff were lovely and very attentive to our needs. Although familiar with your westernised Chinese cuisine we weren’t to sure on how or what to order as there are many unfamiliar options to choose from but made a great go of it. Our family favourite was the A01 Spicy Based with beef, pork, shrimp, meatball, clams, scampi seafood selections. We also had a side of combination fried rice, combination fried noodles and a few others, the kids enjoyed the fried donuts with a sweet dipping sauce. The whole table was filled with delectable food, we loved it so much we hope to make a quick return to try more amazing food.

Absolutely great restaurant! The seafood broth was the absolute highlight of our dinner, the broth was incredibly flavorful, spicy but not too spicy, just right, bold, balanced, and incredibly satisfying The generous portions of fresh seafood made it even more satisfying. There was a great selection of sauces that perfectly complemented the dishes, adding variety and customisation to every bite. The fruit teas were very refreshing with real fruit and perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just right. And the clay pot rice? Crispy bottom perfection.
