My Fried Chicken Britomart — Restaurant in Waitematā

📍 Location and Ambiance/Atmosphere

This is exactly located in "ATRIUM ON TAKUTAI" Along the road of Britomart Pl

This place has a good dim ambiance in which the light is not overwhelming while you can fully enjoy your food and drinks. Ann array of bottles are on display too.

The ambiance is comforting where one side has a straight comfy seat and sturdy chairs to pair.

There is also music 🎵🎶 being played inside the place. But not too loud so you can still enjoy a good chat with friends

The tables are set up for 2-4 persons, but ofcourse it can be arranged if you coming in a bigger group size. Just like today, I think i saw a group of 7-8 people enjoying their meal. ( Think the tables are small in size but just the right size)

The plates used are small but this is advantageous and just a right fit not to overwhelm the tables when food is served. They also provide a knife, form, glass and serviettes. However, they do not have plastic gloves (I'm not sure, i did not ask)

👬People and service

The staff are friendly and approchable. The chef (i know he is the chef because he has an apron on) is very active. The front of house keeps the customers in check and asks if a customer wants more food (i had the bottomless chicken 🍗). I came in on a not so busy hour (4pm) and after eating my fill, i also had a good chat with the staff.

🍟 Fries The fries comes in with a dip. The fries are in a rectangular coss section. Easy to grab and cooked to perfection, nice thin crisp on the outside, well cooked on the inside without the starchy and mushy feel. It is still warm to eat after 5-10mins but beyond 20mins i think, like all fries, it will have a different feel when eating

🥗 K-slaw I wanted to write this last because.. O-M-G... The thinly sliced vegetables are very cruchy and chilled nicely with a great crunch on every bite. It has a sauce on top, i think the same one they put on one of the flavored chicken. This is also great to chew with after a bite of their original chicken

🍗 Flavored Chicken

I was able to taste 8 out 9 flavors. They ran out of soy garlic on that day, and that is one of the best tasting flavors. The chicken is still crispy even if the sauces are onn the chicken. This just means that the quality of the food is great. Everything was served in their ideal temperature

Creamy Onion (creamy and savory) 2.5 Crispy Original (great crunch) 2.5 Maple Butter Garlic (sweet) Spring Onion (salty side, lightly salted) 5.5 Extra Spicy (mild spicy for me) 5.5 Cheese (powdered and cheesy) 7.5 Hot N' Sweet (sweet) 7.5 Sweet and Sour (sweet, hint of sour)

Most would not agree, but my taste buds and preference are in this order.

My Fried Chicken offers beautifully cooked food, drinks, and service that just hits the spot !. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely smile and wave , as we were shown to our table☺️. I ordered the 3 Drum combo🍗 (Honey Maple Flavour) with coleslaw🥗, chips🍟, Drink🥤, and brioche bun🍞, as well as the Cheese Corn🧀🌽. After a not so lengthy wait, our food arrived at the table hot, crispy and delicious looking. The Maple Butter chicken drums were crispy and juicy, and the flavour profile was to die for. The chips were so incredibly crispy and delicious and was the perfect side to compliment the dish. Speaking about sides, let's not forget about the coleslaw and brioche bun. Usually I'm not a huge salad person, but the coleslaw was absolutely amazing. The dressing was very light and refreshing and the salad itself was crispy and fresh. The brioche bun came already pre-cut and buttered and acted as the perfect vessel for my fried chicken slider creation. The Cheese Corn Dish was sweet and salty, and was full of deliciously stringy mozzarella cheese. Overall this was an absolutely amazing experience and a must try when you're in Auckland. This place was utterly delicious. We wandered in while walking around Britomart after seeing the good Google rating, but I was not expecting to be this blown away (I was admittedly very hungry, but still). I was a little confused by the word "nibbles" but they're just chicken wings. I only ordered a 6pc mix combo to split with my son, because he's a picky eater and I figured we would end up ordering him a burger somewhere else. We went with original crispy (and man were they crispy) and maple butter (amazing) because he doesn't like much (any) spice but even the mild flavors did not disappoint. The fries that we got with the combo were also quite good. For only an additional $7 NZ I upgraded my combo drink to a cocktail, which I thought was an excellent price. The Raspberry Sour was amazing, just the right balance of sweet and sour topped with a thick egg white foam and freeze dried raspberries. I'm going to try to copy it when I get home, but I doubt I can do it justice. This place was able to please this adventurous foodie AND my very picky 11 year old.
