My experience with Non Solo Pizza has been extremely disappointing. I will not lie the food is quite nice hence my extreme disappointment in there management.
Me and my partner had made a booking for dinner on Monday the 14th of feb via phone call to ensure they were open. We had driven the 1.5 hours to reach there location only to find them closed with no notice in regards to reason of closure posted anywhere or any contact alerting of this. This itself was quite frustrating but after speaking with them on the phone a few days later we made another booking to hopefully amend the previous issue.
Once we arrived me and my partners vaccine passes were checked and we were seated. Upon sitting we were visit by a different staff member who again asked to see our vaccine passed in which we both provided. He refused to accept my partners vaccine pass due to its lack of QR code regardless of it being a government issues document. We were then promptly told to leave.
I would not recommend visiting Non Solo Pizza due to there lack of transparency, legitimacy and overall poor understanding of and adaptation of customers needs. They have essentially screwed me and my partner over twice wasting hours worth of driving and time much better spent at any bar in auckland city.
REPLY TO BUSINESS' RESPONSE:
When my partner followed up with you, yes you did explain your reason for closure and the staff member who spoke to us apologies for the lack of contact was made to either of us prior to closure so it would be wise to refrain from spreading misinformation in regards to your poor business management. If you are going to reply unprofessionally, at-least know you facts as it is embarrassing reading your response filled with literal lies. That evening (14th) I attempted to call you multiple times, even leaving a message. So it is extremely idiotic for you to sit on you high (uneducated) horse and accuse me of choosing not to answering the phone when in fact you staff admitted to not contacting us prior. Even if you had called and we "chose not to answer your phone", you staff still told us that they had not contacted us. It would be wise of you to invest time into proper staff communication training as it seem to be an issue.
If you did have signage explaining your reason for closure, it was not noticeable, in which not sufficient. But this is besides the point due to the utter lack of communication and lies post issue.
Yes it is at your jurisdiction to say who can, and cannot enter "your" establishment in regards to the covid-19 vaccine passport, but when you dont spare a glance to our "tatty pieces of folded A4 paper" which if you had taken the time to properly assess would have realised the fool you had made out of yourself by ignoring government documents that dont fit your false standard. Not to mention our vaccine passes were accepted at the door by a gentleman far more well mannered than yourself.
In the future I would recommend you improve you handling of customers when you and you team make mistakes as this "review" interaction in itself shows you extremely poor basic hospitality skills in a simple altercation which could have easily been fixed with some proper communication and...
Read moreWow what a Saturday night? We used to go here years ago before this was sold after COVID. Remind us of old great times.. packed… happy full of fun on Friday and Saturday . Tonight after so long we want to experience it’s Nice lady gave us a sit with a nice warm heater.. ordered a bottle of wine it’s not cheap but we are happy to order because we are heading in few hours to another party! But guess what .. me and my husband is having a nice conversation with our great expensive wine, guy came without no further explanation put couple of chairs ( 8 ) next to us.. and after he did it, he said is that ok if I can sit people next to you? All we said is of course! This guy who is probably a manager of the bay that asked us .. didn’t even told us that these 8 women are intoxicated and they are allowed to drink anymore and they were asked to be out at the proper main restaurant?
Very shocking! Why in the hell this manager had to sit with us 8 intoxicated women., drank from the long lunch next to us as we are ready to have a nice dinner!!!
How we know they’re intoxicated? Because I heard they want more drink but the waiter said no more drinks instead they can have fries and water! And they’re so loud!!
How come we deserved this on Saturday night? The place is empty ., so they can sit these drink women somewhere and not next to us!
Anyway, dinner must go on .. we still have to eat ., but we are not too happy as far these things happen because it’s not right. Drink and intoxicated should go out of the restaurant or restaurant should place them on the place that is right for them. This manager didn’t do the right thing! Bear in mind we been to so many fine dining. These women are very loud , intoxicated as I heard they been drinking there since 1230 at non solo Parnell for long lunch!!
Very disappointing , whoever manage this beautiful restaurant should trained them well and think again. We are there for a great dinner and good time after a long week and we are there to spend., Just not right ! They’re lots of available places but why sit next to us .. we are a matured couple and we need to have a great dinner .. but these intoxicated women...
Read moreOk... so I had really high expectations for this place. Everyone told me it was the best and I LOVE good Italian food and my wife booked it as a spontaneous date night.
It's beautiful when we first arrive. Tucked away off the main drag, you walk down this hallway and when you get to the back, it opens to this massive, open outdoor space. Really lovely. It's also got a bunch of people, which gives the place a great feel. Lots of people having a great time.
We had a drink at the bar before being seated, which was tasty. I had a glass of Prosecco. So far so good. We get taken to the table and our server is excellent. Nice guy, very professional, very friendly, and also quite funny. Ambiance, service, and environment are all on point. The three stars comes down to the meal.
We started w the polpette and arancini. It was good, but not great. Polpette were a bit dry and the sauce wasn't rich enough to overcome. The arancini used a saffron risotto, which was a little different, but they weren't creamy enough to stand on their own and the sauce wasn't enough to offset that. Tasty though.
Our mains we ordered the ravioli and Mediterranean pizza. I enjoyed the ravioli! Delicious sauce and great filling. My main feeling was about the toughness of the pasta. For house made, it wasn't really melty. The pizza itself was amazing. Texture, taste, and size all delivered. The toppings were a major let down. They smoke the bacon, which is fine, but then it's PILED on. Like. Mountain of bacon that isn't really all that crispy bc it's been smoked. We wound up taking almost all of it off to just eat the pie underneath.
For dessert, we had the chocolate fondant. It was epic. Delicious. No complaints. A must get.
For the price point, we expected more, so I'm giving it 3 stars at this point. It could easily have been an off night, or we just had such high expectations that it kind of brought us back to earth. Either way, this is a local favorite and you should definitely go try for yourself!
PS bc of how disappointed we were w the pizza, they comped it for us, which was extremely generous given that it's a personal...
