I was starting to become a regular here when I decided today that I would rather spend my money at Winona where the customer service isn't sour & pretentious.
I called 5-10 minutes ahead of time to place an order at Biskit Cafe (regular matcha latte). The staff member remembered my order from me calling at the same time the previous weeks- I thought that's great, we've established familiarity and trust -it will be ready or almost ready when I arrive! When I entered the cafe at 8:50am today the staff member barely acknowledged me. She knew me and my order but hadn't placed it yet. After glancing over me she half smirked & purposely took a dine-in couple's large breakfast order before mine & then processed my matcha order when returning back to the Pos (obviously she knew me as she entered matcha latte on the Pos before I said anything). She then gave the ticket to the barista. I noticed that she had only just put my order through despite me calling 5-10 minutes prior.
I did not call for fun! I was made to awkwardly stand at the counter waiting to be served and acknowledged. I let you know my son was in the car distressed and that I was pressed for time which is why I proactively called through my order ahead of time. You gave me a blank look and I was told to wait a further 3 minutes (after almost being in the cafe for 10 minutes already). The cafe was not busy. The waitress's excuse was that someone placed a large takeaway order. I highly doubt they placed it before I called. My friends and I were supposed to dine in here next week and would have come many more times. Fortunately there are many more places in Parnell we have the option of going as I will not be returning.
I did not enjoy my drink and honestly almost was about to walk out after being treated like a ghost. I should really be thanking you as you have inspired me to buy matcha powder again to make my own at home rather than experience being treated so savagely again.
If you were having a bad day I sincerely hope you have a better one tomorrow. Please know that often you are the first person some people see in the morning. You have the option of making or breaking their day. Please choose to...
Read moreMy wife's been here a handful of times however this is the first time I have been able to experience Biskit for myself - despite having lived in Parnell for 2 years.
Needing to take my phone in for repair down the road, I had an hour to kill and thought I would try Biskit both to pass the time and to fill the void of breakfast which had been delayed due to the unexpected phone drama in the morning.
First and foremost, the service is excellent. The staff are polite, attentive and welcoming. The environment is also very cosy and has a nice indoor/outdoor feel to it. The food - well that is the icing on the cake. The Eggs Benny was cooked to absolute perfection and was ready within minutes of ordering which is brilliant as the place was busy yet they were still able to keep up with demand.
Highly recommended cafe that I will visit again. I would have shared photos except my phone is... err... being repaired down the road, so do check it out...
Read moreWe visited this Cafe on Anzac morning. I got a coffee and a date scone. The scone was a little dry. Need to be fatter and not cooked as long and a few more dates put in it. I was disappointed to find a public holiday surcharge. I think this is wrong. I have had my own clothing retail stores for 30 years so know a bit about retail. Yes wages might cost more on a public holiday but generally turn over is higher to make up for wages being higher. Why the food industry think they are any better than other retailers who just swallow the increased wage bill for the day. Imagine if all retailers eg Bunnings Mitre 10, New World, Palmers, etc all added on a surcharge for a public holiday?. Hence I only had a scone and coffee as I will not accept and pay the surcharge on an already pricey meal. Already restaurant and Cafe prices are ridiculous. You will one day out...
