Sprig + Fern Thorndon — Restaurant in Wellington

I’ve just popped in to the sprig in thorndon ( tinakori meets Bowen) for a couple of delicious hazy beers n 2 x pizzas, a margarita and blue cheese and kale, both very yummy and arrived quickly which was a treat as I was hungry and was thinking of somewhere to eat at an affordable price. So happy I made the call to come here, no stress, very chilled , service was given by staff that genuinely care. Such a friendly place ( even dog 🐕 friendly) which was nice. This is one of my favourite bars in Wellington. The vibe is laid back and friendly, there's no annoying distractions such as TV's, pool tables, gaming machines and so forth, so you can sit with your friends have have an actual conversation. Novel!

The selection of beers is also awesome - they serve their own Sprig and Fern beers on tap (I've never bothered to check what they have in bottles) all of which are very good, and some are outstanding - looking at you Fern Draught!

Go in a few times and the staff will remember your name and probably your usual order (unless you're like me and get something different...

Literally an older house remodeled into craftbeer bar, Sprig & Fern presents itself as a more elegant British pub, so much so that even some of the patrons seem to be having very British conversations haha (sorry, can't help but listen sometimes). While it's perfectly neat and clean, I honestly can't really see myself dying to come back here just bc it seems too fancy for my liking with less entertaining things to look at (although, they do have some great NZ craftbeer books available).
