Bay Lounge — Restaurant in Lagos State

The place has a good view as usual, not my first time.. But, I had an issue with rude of one of the staffs taking orders. we were seated there for about an 1hr but no one attended to us,I understand they might have been a pool of people this day but , when a staff is alerted about people sitting for a long time, courtesy demand you try to soften them and make them feel good amidst the lot of work... A particular tall slim lady was sweet enough to answer our call but she told us she wasn’t in charge of orders , and then she called “Anita “ to attend to us.. We spoke to Anita that we’ve waiting for over an hour, Anita then said she is very busy and if we like we can take our money and go elsewhere and she walked out on us.. This tall slim lady (on white polo) was around again, we told her we still have not been attended to and she looked for Anita, Meanwhile Anita was busy welcoming large group of people that are just arriving and just ignoring us.. We didn’t react o The nice tall lady on white polo then rebuked Anita for taking preference of people just coming rather than taking out orders.. She came then to answer us grumbling.. At the end of the day ,most of what we wanted she said wasn’t available; in my wide guess, she just wanted us outta there.. We ended leaving there unhappy after waiting for approximately 2hrs... I was really disappointed cos after this scenario, the thought of what happened this day won’t let me want to chill again to bay lounge.. My honest and outpoured...

A nice place to be

Bay's lounge has that romantic vibe going on for them especially wihh the waterside view. The water stinks a little especially in the evening but you enjoy it when you take your mind off it and just enjoy the cool breeze.

Smoking is also allowed in the entire space so you may want to find another location if you have any reaction to this.

The food is not bad so I think they have things they are good at. The chips was okay, burger was great, rice was nice, nkwobi had a weird taste of something I couldn't quite decipher. Pricing is okay and fair for other such similar places on the island. Average budget for a couple is say 20 - 30k with water and juice tho.

Overall ambience was chill, there's usually a live performance on weekends although and music playing in the background also. I recommend reducing the sound of the music so people can hear one another without shouting at the top of their voice.

Staff are friendly and helpful so it's a plus for them on that. The food also came earlier than promised so they were true to time which is a quality I don't find in a lot of restaurants on the island.

Overal, it's a chill place to be. Go for the feels and you probably will not have anything badnor remarkable to say about their food.

Bonus gist: someone proposed to their significant other the day I went there to dine. So maybe you'll find your own there. I said I should share update...

My friends who just got back decided that we go out and we decided to visit Bay Lounge. It wasn't my first time here so I obliged. Usually when I visit, the service takes forever and as usual, today, was the same. We got here at about 12:30am on a Thursday night and a lady showed us to a table and the menu was dropped on the table. It took another 30minutes before a waiter came to take our order. We finally ordered some drinks and food. The drinks got to our table at 1:08am - do estimate the wait time. I had a virgin colada and it isn't so bad although I expected more cream. The fries weren't so dry as I love my fries to be but it was okay. The snail was perfect. The catfish pepper soup was awesome - if you don't like your soup so spicy, don't try it, otherwise, go for it. I hate spring rolls cause the few I've had are usually very hard but the vegetable spring roll here was so crispy and tasty. The steamed white rice was properly cooked and honestly, I enjoyed my meal and so did my friends. I had to taste everything.. 🤤 Plus it's all affordable.

I usually heard bad reviews bout the food here but honestly, I disagree. The food is lit. The customer service however needs work.. Plus the music is on point. 👌
