I was going to give Z Kitchen 4 and a half stars because the soufflé was not amazing and we had a cheese knife instead of a butter knife. But since I cannot do a half, they get the full 5 stars as the service was exceptional which is not something you say often about any restaurant.

When we walked into the empty restaurant, we were told the restaurant was fully booked. After a quick check, we were ushered to a cosyish table on the side between the main restaurant and the area screened off for more private events.

Orders taken promptly and food and drink came to the table in a decent space of time. Staff seemed genuinely concerned that we were having a good time. We ordered an additional carafe of wine which was forgotten but this was an small fly in the ointment of a very good service delivery.

As we left, the lady who saw us in offered to give us their card so we could call ahead and get better seating next time around.

From the car park the chap in charge helped us manoeuvre out of the park and stayed with us until we were free of the traffic. He had also directed is to drive into the compound to be dropped off when we arrived, as there was no space outside.

Service is everything and Z Kitchen seems to be trying to get it right. Oh yeah, the food was very good, had the calamari starter and the chicken schnitzel sandwich which comes with a...

Got there on a Tuesday evening as a party of 2, had a reservation and the concierge tried to seat us in the corridor by the entrance of the kitchen, (with its squeaky doors), The are had a slightly damp odor (despite the renovation) we asked to be re-seated and were after a slight back and forth.

Our server (Kehinde) was very attentive and recommended a delicious berry cocktail which was the highlight of the evening. That’s was 10/10

Food unfortunately was a total disappointment entree of buttermilk biscuits and chicken - a nice presentation but not tasty. Main course was the ostrich steak with red wine reduction and salmon which was the GREATEST disappointment with zero flavor😞. Dessert, cookies and home made icecream (how do you have ice chips in the icecream that’s meant to be cream??😵‍💫 The cookie was also too sugary.

Also didn’t help that in between the meal the concierge who didn’t want to re-seat us kept rudely pointing our way as if we had ruined her seating plans in the main dining area (which was ironically empty for most of our stay 😤).

All this for an almost 100k bill. Nah? No repeat visit.

The breadbasket, cocktail and server were the only redeeming features. Have to mention the Manager did listen to the complaints but for a bill like that, was...

Finally made it to Z Kitchen. I make it sound like a life mission only because I had heard so much about it. And did it live up to expectations? Not in as many regards. But first, the good bits. The walk in is nice. I expect it would be even nicer in the evening. The staff are really attentive and seem to know intuitively what to do and what diners expect. The furniture is nice, the space airy and attractive. But the food. For a place called Z Kitchen, you'd have thought it'll be the last word in fine cuisine. Or last letter if you want to be pedantic. Either way, it's not. The lasagna was runny, with rubbery bits in it, and the kalamari was salty. Worst of all, it is pricey!! Oh, and the PoP ceiling left a lot to be desired. Or maybe that was me looking up in exasperation after struggling through my meal. What a difference a difference makes? Z Kitchen is unrecognizable from my last visit. It is beautiful. Like an art piece. The decor is exquisite, straight out of a magazine. And the sit out? It's the mother of all sit outs. Cannot say enough nice things about this place. Never mind the market outside, focus on your oasis. 5 stars all round, highly recommended.

It was such a a cozy environment. Lovely interior decor, well laid out. The food was hot and fresh! And surprisingly was served about 10 minutes after placing the order. The waiter was polite and patient enough to recommend his favourite meal, as well as answer questions about other items on the menu. I ordered the Lasagne, while my wife ordered the king prawn pasta. Both were well made and like insaid served in record time. I ordered a portion of meatballs for my son which he also enjoyed. For dessert i ordered the strawberry cheesecake and my wife the Key lime pie. Once again, both were served fresh and tasted great. For drinks, my son had a glass of freshly squeezed pineapple juice, wife had a passion fruit cocktail, and i opted for tea. From the pot of tea, i probably had about 5 cups!!! So that great for those who enjoy a cup of tea despite the weather or temperature outside 😃. Id definitely recommend this place to someone looking for where to hangout and eat, going on a date, or just pre-drinks with friends before going to the club. Great job guys!

First thing you need to know is that this place is premium. Now, I know you hear this sort of thing about Lagos places all the time, but in this case it really is premium. For example, the bouncer/valet guys don't come across as hungry or "beggy". The waitstaff are quite well dressed and noticeably more polite than average. They also seem to know the menu, which is quite rare. We had the biryani, lasagna and what turned out to be suya calamari. Lasagna was brilliant, good quantity too. Overall quantity on the biryani was also great, but it did seem heavy on the rice and light on the sauce. The menu did not give us a heads up about the "suya" nature of the calamari. But the quantity was quite impressive. You probably want to dress to go here, great photo ops. Also you'll stick out like a sore thumb if you don't. Won't hurt if also you pick up one of those American accents that Lagosians like so much.
